In short
- A package should state creators, deliverables, creator fees, usage rights, exclusivity, creator ads, management scope, reporting, timeline and taxes. A blank line is where money leaks.
- Packages usually leave out paid media, ad rights beyond organic use, exclusivity, production and GST. Each can add tens of percent to the price.
- Names such as Starter, Growth and Scale are not units. Compare cost per creator, cost per deliverable and the share of the total that reaches creators.
- A bundle discount is real only if the package costs less than the same items bought one by one. Ask for the à la carte price.
An influencer marketing package is a bundle of creators, formats, usage rights and reporting sold at one price. A good package states how many creators, in which tiers, making what, for how long you may use the content, and what the agency's fee covers. A weak one has a name such as "Growth" and a total.
Packages are how most agencies make a buying decision look simple. This post is for the brand manager or founder holding two or three of them and unable to say which is cheaper. It shows what sits inside a package, what is usually left out, and a spec sheet that puts any two packages on the same footing. For the fee models behind them, read our guide to influencer marketing agency fees in India. For the channel as a whole, start with our complete guide to influencer marketing in India.
Three kinds of package
Not everything called a package is the same thing. Sort it first.
| Kind | What you buy | Priced in | Where the risk sits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deliverable bundle | One creator's Reel, Story set and post sold together | Per creator | You pay for formats you do not need |
| Creator-count package | A set number of creators in set tiers, such as "20 micro creators, one Reel each" | Per creator or per campaign | The quality of the creators, which the headline does not show |
| Programme package | A campaign shape (pilot, launch, festive wave, always-on) with a scope and a fee | Per campaign or per month | The scope is a paragraph, so the edges are where disputes start |
Most proposals mix all three. A "launch package" is usually a creator-count package built from deliverable bundles and wrapped in a programme fee. Knowing which layer a number belongs to is half the work of comparing.
The ten lines inside a package
Whatever it is called, a package should answer ten questions. Blank lines are where money leaks.
| # | Line | What it should say | When it is blank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Creators | Number, tier, niche, language, city | You get whoever is free that week |
| 2 | Deliverables | Format and count per creator, such as one Reel and one Story set | "Content" turns out to mean one static post |
| 3 | Creator fees | A total, ideally per creator | You cannot check them against published rates |
| 4 | Usage rights | Where, how long, organic or paid | Rights are assumed, then disputed |
| 5 | Exclusivity | Categories and days, or "none" | The creator posts for a rival next week |
| 6 | Creator ads | Media included or not, which handles, how long | You pay for a post you cannot amplify |
| 7 | Management | What the fee covers: strategy, vetting, contracts, approvals, payments | You do the missing jobs yourself |
| 8 | Reporting | Metrics, dates, raw links and screenshots | A deck of reach |
| 9 | Timeline and revisions | Live date, revision rounds | Edits with no end |
| 10 | Taxes and extras | GST, TDS handling, product, shoots | A bill bigger than the quote |
Package shapes you will meet
The shapes below recur across Indian agencies. They are patterns, not price lists: your budget decides which one fits, and our pricing page shows what typical creator budgets buy.
| Shape | What it usually contains | Suits | Often not inside |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pilot | 10 to 25 nano and micro creators, one wave, one platform, sometimes product seeding | A first test in one city or niche | Creator ads, long rights |
| Launch | Micro creators plus a few mid-tier names, two platforms, rights on the best posts | A product or store launch | Media spend for ads |
| Festive wave | Many creators posting in one tight window, several languages | A sale or festival | Named stand-ins if first-choice creators sell out |
| Always-on | A monthly count of creators and posts, creator ads and a monthly report | A permanent channel; see always-on vs campaign | Extra capacity for festive peaks |
| UGC batch | A set number of creator-made videos for your ads, with rights | Paid social that needs fresh creative; see UGC content creators | Posting on the creator's own handle |
| Seeding drop | Product sent to many nano creators in exchange for posts | Early awareness and content; see gifting and seeding | Product cost, shipping and tax on barter |
What packages leave out
Six items are routinely outside the headline number. The ranges below come from one published rate guide and carry low confidence, so use them to size a question, not to accept an answer.
| Usually a separate line | What it can add | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Whitelisting or partnership-ad rights | 60% to 120% over an organic post | Which handle, how many days, who holds the ad access |
| Paid media behind creator ads | Typically 2x to 4x the creator fee for a whitelisted post | Is any media in the package? |
| Reposting and usage rights | Brand repost +25% to 40%; perpetual use +80% to 150% | Where and for how long |
| Exclusivity | 30 days +30% to 50%; 90 days +80% to 150% | Which categories and platforms |
| Production, product and travel | Varies | Who pays and who ships |
| GST and TDS | 18% GST on the agency's invoice; TDS on creator payments | Who deducts, who deposits |
Our influencer cost calculator uses mid-range add-ons of 35% for usage rights and 40% for exclusivity. Our post on what whitelisting costs goes deeper on the first two rows.
Reading a bundle discount
Published guides say bundling should save money. One puts a Reel, post and Stories bundle at 1.6x to 2x the price of a single Reel, and a three-Reel package at 2.2x to 2.5x. A booking platform says bundles usually earn a 20% to 35% discount against buying the items separately.
Test any claimed discount with one request: "Please give me the à la carte price of the same items." If the package costs more than the sum of its parts, it is a convenience, not a discount.
How to compare two packages
Put both packages on one sheet. Fill every cell from the proposal, and write "not stated" where it is not. Every "not stated" is a question.
| Line | Package A | Package B |
|---|---|---|
| Creators (number, tiers, languages, cities) | ||
| Deliverables per creator | ||
| Creator fees, total and per creator | ||
| Usage rights (where, days, paid or organic) | ||
| Exclusivity | ||
| Creator ads and media | ||
| Management fee and what it covers | ||
| Reporting (metrics, dates, raw links) | ||
| Timeline and revision rounds | ||
| Taxes, product, production | ||
| Total before GST |
Then work out four ratios. The first needs creator fees shown; if a package will not show them, you cannot do the sum.
- Creator share: creator fees divided by the total. One agency's published benchmark puts management fees at 15% to 25% of creator spend, which leaves roughly 80% to 87% of the total for creators.
- Cost per creator: creator fees divided by the number of creators.
- Cost per deliverable: creator fees divided by the number of posts, Stories and videos.
- Rights per rupee: days of ad rights and exclusivity, divided by creator fees.
Names to treat with care
- Starter, Growth, Scale. One agency's published benchmark labels ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh a month as starter, ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh as growth and ₹12 lakh to ₹25 lakh or more as scale, all before agency fees. Another agency's "Growth" can mean something else. A name is not a unit.
- "Up to 50 creators". That is a ceiling. Ask for the floor, and for who is accountable if the count falls short.
- "All-inclusive". Ask what is in it, line by line.
- "Unlimited revisions". Either a promise the agency will not keep or a sign that approvals will drag. Two rounds is standard in our contracts.
- Guaranteed views or sales. No creator can promise these. A package that does is a warning; see our list of influencer marketing agency red flags.
Questions to put to any package
- Can I see the named shortlist, with audience data, before anything is booked?
- What happens if a creator drops out or turns out to have a weak audience?
- Do unused slots roll over or expire?
- Who owns the creator contracts and the content rights I pay for?
- Is the price before or after GST, and who handles TDS?
- What is the extra price for ad rights and for exclusivity?
- What will the report contain, and when do I receive the raw links?
If the answers are slow or vague, the package is probably a template. A proposal built for your brief reads differently; our post on the influencer marketing proposal template shows what it should contain, and the guide to choosing an influencer marketing agency shows how to score it.
Packaged or custom
A package works when your need matches a known shape and you want a quick comparison: a first pilot, one festive wave, a batch of UGC for ads. Custom is better when your mix is unusual, such as three regional languages in two cities, a launch with one large creator and fifty small ones, or a regulated category where creator qualifications limit the pool.
We scope to the brief, not from a menu. You send the brief, and within 48 hours of the call you receive a creator plan with named creators, their quotes, a content plan and our fee on its own line. We can then charge in any of three ways: creator fees at cost plus a management fee, a fixed project fee or a monthly retainer. Our pricing page explains each. If you already hold a package from someone else, send it to us with your brief and we will show you how our plan lines up against it.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in an influencer marketing package?
At minimum: a number of creators in named tiers, the format and count of posts per creator, creator fees, the agency's management work, reporting and a timeline. Usage rights, exclusivity, paid media behind creator ads, product and GST are often separate lines. Ask for all ten lines in writing. Our pricing page shows what we include in our fee.
How much do influencer marketing packages cost in India?
There is no audited price list. One agency's published benchmark puts starter programmes at ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh a month before agency fees, growth at ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh and scale at ₹12 lakh to ₹25 lakh or more. Treat it as low confidence and check creator lines against our influencer rates guide.
Is an influencer marketing package better than a custom plan?
A package suits a known shape, such as a first pilot or a single festive wave, because you can compare it quickly. A custom plan suits unusual mixes of languages, cities or creator tiers. The test is whether the package lets you see per-creator costs. If it does not, ask for a custom quote.
Do influencer marketing packages include paid ads and usage rights?
Often not. Many packages cover organic posts on the creator's handle only. Whitelisting, partnership ads and reposting on your channels are priced as extras, and the media spend is separate again. Read what is influencer whitelisting before you assume your best post can run as an ad.
How many creators should an influencer package include?
Enough to learn something and not so many that you cannot manage them. A pilot of 10 to 25 nano and micro creators is a common start. Our guide on how many influencers you need works through the sums by goal and budget.
Can I swap creators or deliverables inside a package?
You should be able to. Ask whether you approve the shortlist before booking, what happens if a creator drops out, and whether unused slots roll over or expire. A package that fixes the creators before you see them is selling a headline, not a plan.
