In short
- Navratri is Ahmedabad's biggest consumer moment: nine nights of garba, which UNESCO listed as intangible cultural heritage in 2023, drive fashion, jewellery, makeup and food.
- Gujarati creators lead for trust, with Hindi and English alongside, and comedy, food, garba, lifestyle and business content are strong niches.
- Uttarayan in January, Diwali with Bestu Varas, Rath Yatra and wedding season give Ahmedabad a calendar as full as any metro's.
- We run Ahmedabad with local Gujarati creators and a New Delhi strategy team, travelling for shoots and meetups. We have no Ahmedabad office.
Ahmedabad shops by family and by festival. A purchase that looks like one person's is often a family decision, and a sale that looks like a normal weekend is often tied to Navratri, Uttarayan or Diwali. Influencer Gully casts Gujarati creators for Ahmedabad brands and runs the campaign from New Delhi, travelling for festive shoots and launches, with no Ahmedabad office. Brief us and expect a plan, with named creators, content ideas and costs, 48 hours later.
What is distinctive about Ahmedabad: the Gujarati-first creator scene, a calendar built around nine nights of garba, the industries based here and the neighbourhoods creators work in.
Gujarati first, with Hindi and English alongside
Gujarati is the language of trust in Ahmedabad and across the state, and it is the language creators use for comedy, food, family content and local commentary. Hindi serves migrant communities and national-brand content, and English works for professionals, students and premium categories. One creator platform's 2026 report says vernacular content beats English on engagement, trust and conversion but publishes no figures, so we test the split for your category.
Gujarati creators often have followers well beyond Ahmedabad, in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and the wider Gujarati diaspora. A creator's audience insights show how much sits in the city, which matters for a store or delivery offer that exists only here. Money, business and entrepreneurship content also finds a ready audience in a state with a long trading tradition. Creators giving investment advice carry the same ASCI and SEBI rules as anywhere; see fintech influencer marketing.
Navratri: nine nights that run the year
UNESCO added Garba of Gujarat to its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2023. In Ahmedabad Navratri is also the largest retail window of the year, with chaniya choli and kediyu outfits, oxidised jewellery, makeup, footwear and food. The festival behaves like a campaign with phases:
| Phase | Usual window | Creator content | Brand play |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outfit hunt | July to early September | Garba-outfit lookbooks, tailor and market visits, rental versus buying | Ethnic wear, footwear, bags |
| Jewellery and makeup | Late August to Navratri | Oxidised jewellery hauls, garba-makeup tutorials, hair and nail ideas | Jewellery, beauty, salons |
| Garba classes | Weeks before the first night | Step tutorials, class vlogs, couple and family choreography | Dance studios, apparel, music |
| The nine nights | Navratri | Outfit of the night, ground and club garba clips, street-food stops | Food, beverages, events, cabs |
| After Navratri | Dussehra, Sharad Purnima | Fafda-jalebi, festival wrap-ups | Sweets, snacks, gifting |
Garba events and passes are a content category in themselves, and creators attending a ticketed ground or club event generally need permission from the organiser for branded content. Creators dance in their own outfits, so brands should brief for real outfits worn at real events rather than studio looks. A brand that wants to appear in garba content without owning an event usually sponsors outfits, makeup or refreshments.
Three creator groups worth knowing
Gujarati comedy and family-skit creators build audiences through relatable situations: the business-minded father, the weekend plan, the mother-in-law, the wedding. They suit mass-market apps, FMCG and local retail, and their humour is hard to translate, so scripts are written in Gujarati from the start.
Food and snack creators cover street food, thalis, farsan, desserts and home recipes. In a city with a strong snack culture, a creator's credibility depends on whether they know a place or a recipe properly, and the same Reel can be reused by a packaged-snack brand with the right rights.
Business and money creators explain small-business, savings and investment topics to an audience that already talks about them at home. They are priced above lifestyle creators of the same size, since our rates data adds 50 percent for premium niches such as finance.
Briefing around Jain and vegetarian households
Ahmedabad has a large Jain community and many vegetarian households, and several observances shape what a brand should post and when. Paryushan, the Jain festival of fasting that falls in August or September, is a period when sales messaging and food-led content need care, and Jain households avoid onion, garlic and root vegetables. For a food brand this changes the ingredient, the recipe and the creator, and for any brand it changes the tone of a Reel posted during a fast. We ask the brand to list what it wants to say and what the audience will accept, and we brief creators on both before scripts are written.
Industries in Ahmedabad and what they want
Pharma and chemicals. Several large Indian pharma and chemical groups, including Zydus and Torrent, are headquartered in the city. Creator work is mostly employer brand and healthcare awareness. ASCI's Addendum II of 6 March 2025 expects influencers who give technical health advice to hold relevant qualifications, stated upfront. This is general information, not legal advice. See health, wellness and fitness.
Textiles and fashion. The city has a long textile history, and festive and wedding fashion is a major category. See fashion influencer marketing.
Food, snacks and sweets. Gujarati farsan, thepla, khakhra, chikki and festive sweets make snack and packaged-food brands natural fits. Seasonal products matter: undhiyu and chikki for Uttarayan, fafda-jalebi on Dussehra, sweets for Diwali.
Real estate, design and education. Ahmedabad has a visible real-estate market, the National Institute of Design and CEPT University for design and architecture, and IIM Ahmedabad, Gujarat University and Nirma University for education. GIFT City in neighbouring Gandhinagar is an international financial services centre, which adds fintech and finance brands to the audience mix.
Local food culture. Gujarat is a dry state and many households are vegetarian, so the evening economy centres on cafés, dessert parlours and food streets rather than bars. We brief creators accordingly, and non-vegetarian or alcohol-adjacent products need legal review and careful positioning.
The Ahmedabad calendar
Festival dates follow the lunar calendar and move each year.
| Window | Moment | What brands do |
|---|---|---|
| January (10 to 14) | Uttarayan and the International Kite Festival | Kites, undhiyu and chikki, apparel, beverages, gifting |
| March | Holi | Colour-safe skincare, sweets, apparel |
| March to May | IPL matches for the Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium | Sports, beverages, apps |
| June to July | Rath Yatra on Ashadhi Bij | Regional family brands, sweets |
| September to October | Navratri and Dussehra | Fashion, jewellery, beauty, food |
| October to November | Diwali and Bestu Varas (Gujarati New Year) | Gifting, appliances, jewellery, home |
| November to February | Wedding season | Wedding wear, jewellery, venues, photographers |
Uttarayan is Ahmedabad's most distinctive visual event: the International Kite Festival on the Sabarmati Riverfront, the kite markets of the old city and rooftops full of families. It suits apparel, snacks, beverages, drones and photography brands, with shoots taking place in the middle of a crowd and on roofs, so safety briefing for creators is part of the plan. Bestu Varas, the Gujarati New Year, falls the day after Diwali and is a gifting and shopping day with its own tradition.
Where Ahmedabad content gets shot
| Spot | Use it for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| C.G. Road and Navrangpura | Fashion, jewellery, street food, student content | Evening crowds |
| S.G. Highway, Sindhu Bhavan Road, Bodakdev | Cafés, restaurants, malls, creator meetups | Parking; venue booking lead times |
| Law Garden night market | Handicrafts, chaniya choli, food | Peak-night crowds; vendor permission |
| Manek Chowk and the old city pols | Heritage and night-food content | Narrow lanes; residents' privacy |
| Sabarmati Riverfront and Atal Bridge | Fitness, events, Uttarayan | Event schedules; permissions |
| Kankaria Lake and Vastrapur Lake | Family, fitness, weekend content | Weekend crowds |
| Sabarmati Ashram, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Adalaj Stepwell | Heritage and travel backdrops | Permissions for commercial filming |
| Science City, Gandhinagar and GIFT City | Tech, finance, family | Campus and security rules |
The old walled city was inscribed by UNESCO as India's first World Heritage City in 2017, and its pols, residential lanes with carved wooden facades, are among the city's best-known backdrops. They are also homes, so we brief creators on privacy and noise and check local permissions before a shoot day is locked.
How we run it in Ahmedabad
You get the same six stages as everywhere (see how we work), tuned for how Ahmedabad buys. Creators are Gujarati, cast by audience city and age, with briefs and scripts in Gujarati and English subtitles for sign-off. Because family decisions and WhatsApp enquiries drive many purchases, click-to-chat and call links are built into the campaign and enquiries are tracked by creator. For festive shoots and launches a strategist travels from Delhi.
What it costs
Ahmedabad creators are priced on tier, niche and rights; there is no dependable published city rate card. Depending on definition, Ahmedabad is treated as a metro or a large tier 2 city, and a 2026 creator-platform survey puts engagement at 3 to 4 percent for metros and 3.5 to 4.5 percent for tier 2 (a vendor estimate, not audited). Festive campaigns usually need a mix of Reels and static posts, and rights matter when festive content is reused as ads.
| Deliverable | Typical range per creator |
|---|---|
| Nano (1K to 10K) Reel | ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 |
| Micro (10K to 100K) Reel | ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 |
| Micro Story set | ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 |
| Micro static or carousel post | ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 |
Published cards add 30 to 50 percent for usage rights and a similar amount for 30 days of exclusivity. See our influencer rates guide for the full breakdown.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work with Gujarati influencers in Ahmedabad?
Yes. Gujarati creators are the base of most Ahmedabad campaigns, with Hindi and English creators added by audience. We brief and script in Gujarati, check audience city split because many Gujarati creators have followers in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and the diaspora, and add subtitles for sign-off. See regional influencer marketing.
When should an Ahmedabad brand start planning for Navratri?
Start in June or July. Outfit hunting, jewellery shopping and garba-class content begin weeks before the first night, and creator calendars fill early. A good plan has teasers in late August, a shopping wave in the fortnight before Navratri and nightly content during the nine nights, with Dussehra and Diwali content ready after.
How much does an influencer marketing company in Ahmedabad charge?
Most Ahmedabad briefs are priced as creator fees at cost plus a management fee, as a fixed campaign fee, or as a retainer. Published benchmarks suggest the management fee runs 15 to 25 percent of creator spend. Festive campaigns add usage-rights costs when posts are reused as ads. See the influencer rates guide or the cost calculator.
Do you have an office in Ahmedabad?
We have no Ahmedabad office. The team is in New Delhi, and Ahmedabad work uses Gujarati creators cast locally, central strategy and reporting, and travel to the city for festive shoots, launches and meetups, priced as its own line. One named strategist owns the account.
How do I choose the best influencer marketing agency in Ahmedabad?
Ask who scripts in Gujarati, how audience location and fake followers are checked, and what the contract says about rights and ASCI disclosure. A sample report shows how results are read. The questions in our guide to choosing an influencer marketing agency cover the rest.
Can food brands work with influencers in a dry, largely vegetarian state?
Yes. Gujarat has alcohol prohibition and many vegetarian households, so café, dessert, snack and food-street content carries the evening economy, and non-vegetarian or alcohol-adjacent products need careful positioning and legal review. We brief creators on what the audience eats and what the brand can say. See FMCG, food and beverage.
Can you run campaigns across Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara?
Yes. Gujarati creators in each city share a language but differ in audience and spending, and Surat has its own textile and diamond culture. We plan separate creator lists under one brief and one report, and compare results by city after the first wave.
