In short
- A package is five things: creators, deliverables, rights, services and reporting. If a quote leaves any of the five blank, you are buying less than it appears.
- Divide the price by named deliverables and test it against published asking prices. An unnamed '25 influencers' lump sum cannot be judged: a micro Reel alone spans ₹8,000 to ₹80,000.
- Rights, ad permission, revisions, replacements and GST are where cheap packages hide cost. Ask for each in writing.
- Treat guaranteed reach, guaranteed sales and unnamed creators as red flags. No agency controls those outcomes.
An Instagram influencer marketing package should state five things: which creators, what each will post, which rights you get, what the agency does and what it will report. Compare packages by dividing the price by the number of named deliverables and testing the result against published asking prices, not by the headline number. We publish no price list, and this guide does not invent one: it shows what to ask for and how to read the answers. For how the campaign itself runs, read our Instagram campaign playbook, and for what each format is for, our Instagram influencer marketing page.
The channel as a whole is covered in our guide to influencer marketing in India, our pricing page explains how we bill, and the how we work page lists what each stage contains.
The five parts of a package
| Part | What it should say | A vague version |
|---|---|---|
| Creators | Names, handles, tiers, audience cities, vetting score | "25 influencers" |
| Deliverables | Format and number per creator, dates | "Content creation" |
| Rights | Platforms, window, paid or organic, ad permission, exclusivity | "Usage as agreed" |
| Services | Casting, contracts, briefs, approvals, label checks, payments and TDS, replacements | "Campaign management" |
| Reporting | Metrics, cadence, who reads them, what happens at the end | "Detailed report" |
A package that leaves a cell vague is cheaper because it promises less. The Goat Agency and Kantar study found about 83 percent of brands struggle to find the right creators, so naming them before you commit is the single most useful line in any quote.
Four package shapes
| Shape | Typical scope | When it fits | Budget reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pilot | 10 to 15 nano and micro creators, four to six weeks, two things tested | First time with the channel | Our starting point is ₹2 lakh to ₹4 lakh of creator spend; see how to run an influencer pilot |
| Launch burst | 20 to 60 creators posting in waves over two to three weeks, plus partnership ads | A product or season with a date | One agency's published range for a growth programme is ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh a month before agency fees |
| Always-on | The same 8 to 15 creators posting monthly for three to twelve months | Brands that need familiarity to build | Retainer plus creator fees, see below |
| Content for ads | UGC-style videos and creator posts with paid-use rights | Brands that run Meta ads | Priced by rights window; see UGC campaigns |
The published references come from one agency's guide and carry low confidence. They show the order of magnitude, not a rate card.
Twelve lines to ask for
| Line | Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Named creators | Names and handles before booking | You cannot judge fit from a count |
| Vetting | The score and audience data per creator | Followers are cheap to fake; see our vetting checklist |
| Formats | Reels, Story sets, carousels per creator | A Story set costs about a quarter of a micro Reel at the top of the range |
| Revisions | Two rounds included | One guide quotes ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 per round beyond two |
| Disclosure | The label and where it sits, checked on every draft | ASCI makes brand and creator share responsibility |
| Contracts | A signed contract with each creator | Verbal deals are where disputes start |
| Usage rights | Platforms, paid use and window | About 35% on a fee; more for longer windows |
| Ad permission | Ad code or account-level access, held for stated days | Without it you cannot boost the best post |
| Exclusivity | Named competitors and window | About 40% for 30 days in our planning default |
| Replacement | A creator who goes silent is replaced at no extra cost | Dropouts happen |
| Taxes | Who deducts TDS, who handles GST | See TDS 194R and GST |
| Reporting | Cadence and metrics, cost per result by creator | The point of the exercise |
What is usually extra
| Item | Published or planning figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Usage rights | About 35% on the base fee | Our planning default; guides range from 25% to 50% |
| Exclusivity, 30 days | About 40% | Our planning default; guides range from 30% to 100% |
| Premium niche (finance, tech) | Up to 50% | Our planning default |
| Whitelisting from the creator's handle | 60% to 120% over an organic post | One rate guide |
| Ad media | Two to four times the creator fee of a boosted post | One rate guide |
| GST | 18% on top | Published rate guides treat it as extra |
| Rush under 48 hours | 25% to 40% | One rate guide |
Details are in our rates guide and whitelisting cost guide. Meta's eligible-formats page says Reels with copyrighted music cannot run as partnership ads unless you hold the rights, so a package that promises ads should say who clears the audio.
How to compare quotes in five steps
- List the deliverables. Count named Reels, Story sets and carousels in each quote.
- Divide. Price divided by deliverables gives cost per Reel or per bundle.
- Add what is missing. Rights, ad permission, GST and any replacement terms.
- Test against published ranges. A micro Reel runs about ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 and a mid-tier Reel ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh. A per-Reel figure far below the range suggests a low tier or low margin for creators; far above suggests a margin you can question.
- Compare the fee as a share of creator spend. One published benchmark puts agency fees at 15% to 25%.
Pricing models behind the package
| Model | How it works | Watch for | Published reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pass-through plus management fee | Creator fees at cost, plus a fee on top | Is the management fee a percentage or fixed? | One benchmark: 15% to 25% of creator spend |
| Fixed campaign fee | One price for a defined scope | Scope creep and unstated rights | One agency: ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh per campaign for 8 to 30 creators |
| Monthly retainer | A monthly fee for an always-on programme, creator fees billed separately | Number of activations covered | One agency: ₹1.5 lakh to ₹6 lakh a month for 15 to 40 activations |
All three are low-confidence single-source figures. We bill in any of these ways: creator fees passed through at cost plus a management fee, a fixed campaign fee, or a monthly retainer for always-on programmes, with creator fees and our fee on separate lines. Our agency fees guide has more.
A scope sheet to ask any agency to fill
Send this skeleton with your brief and compare the answers side by side.
| Section | What to fill in |
|---|---|
| Creators | Name, handle, tier, audience cities, vetting score, fee |
| Deliverables | Format, quantity, posting date, fee per item |
| Rights | Platforms, window, paid use, ad permission, exclusivity, price of each |
| Services | Who briefs, who approves, who checks the label, who pays and deducts TDS |
| Fees | Creator fees, management fee, GST, ad media, each on its own line |
| Reporting | Metrics, dates, format, a sample |
For reference, ours includes a creator plan within 48 hours of the brief call (shortlist, content plan and cost estimate), a Gully Score for every creator, contracts with ASCI disclosure labels, creator payments with TDS handled, one named strategist, weekly reporting and creator fees and our fee on separate lines. We do not charge creators a fee.
Red flags in a package
- Guaranteed reach, views or sales. No agency controls them.
- No named creators. You are buying a count.
- No contract with each creator. Rights and disclosure are then undefined.
- "Free" extras that are the agency's own pages. They are not your creators.
- Reporting only on reach. Ask for cost per result.
- Payment in full upfront. We pay creators after deliverables are verified.
- No replacement clause. A dropout then costs you a slot.
Before you sign
Read the contract against the five parts, check that creator fees and the agency's fee are on separate lines and ask for a sample report. For a package tied to a named strategist, a creator plan within 48 hours and ASCI checks on every post, send us a brief. Frequently asked questions
What should an Instagram influencer marketing package include?
Named creators with audience data, the format and number of posts per creator, contracts with the disclosure label, usage rights and ad permission, a revision limit, a replacement clause, a dated timeline, tax handling and a reporting schedule. It should also show creator fees and the agency fee on separate lines. See what we do for how we structure it.
How much do Instagram influencer packages cost in India?
There is no fixed price. Published asking prices run about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for a nano Reel and ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for a micro Reel, and one agency puts a starter programme at ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh a month before agency fees. Your tiers, formats and rights decide the number. Use the cost guide.
How do I compare two influencer packages from different agencies?
List the deliverables in each quote, divide the price by named Reels and Story sets, add what is missing (rights, GST, ad media), then test the result against published ranges and compare management fee as a share of creator spend. If one quote cannot name creators or tiers, ask before comparing. Our guide to choosing an agency adds the people checks.
Are guaranteed reach or guaranteed sales packages trustworthy?
No. Reach and sales depend on audience, creative and offer, none of which an agency fully controls. A trustworthy package states what the agency controls: casting, contracts, approvals, timelines and reporting. Ask what happens if a target is missed. See influencer marketing mistakes.
Is a package better than a retainer or per-campaign pricing?
They answer different needs. A package or fixed campaign fee suits a launch with a defined scope, a retainer suits always-on programmes, and pass-through at cost plus a management fee suits campaigns where creator spend varies. Compare the fee as a share of creator spend. Our agency fees guide covers each.
Do packages include ad budget and usage rights?
Usually not. Ad media is a separate budget, and one published guide says it typically runs two to four times the creator fee of a boosted post. Usage rights add about 35% to a fee in our planning default. Ask for both as separate lines. See influencer whitelisting cost.
