In short

  • Ramadan 2027 should start about 9 February, Eid al-Fitr about 9 to 11 March and Bakrid about 17 May. Moon sighting decides, so plan a two-day window.
  • Shoot before Ramadan starts, post in the evening and late night, and expect the shopping peak in the last ten days before Eid.
  • Work with Muslim creators and reviewers from the first brief. Do not make one creator a spokesperson for a community or film eating and drinking in fasting hours.
  • Never claim halal status, charity donations or fasting benefits you cannot prove, and plan comment moderation, since Muslim creators attract more abuse.

Ramadan influencer campaigns should be built as a month with three beats, not a single Eid post: the evening and late-night rhythm of iftar and sehri, the shopping peak in the last ten days, and Chaand Raat and Eid itself. Because the moon decides the day, every plan needs a flexible window. This post is the Ramadan and Eid slice of our guide to influencer marketing in India, written for brands that want to show up with care, with eleven ideas, budgets and the rules of respect.

Dates for 2026 and 2027, and why they move

Islamic months follow the moon, so Ramadan arrives about ten or eleven days earlier each year. In 2026 the Indian crescent was sighted on 18 February and the first fast was on 19 February, as Free Press Journal reported; Eid al-Fitr fell on 21 March in most of India, a day after Saudi Arabia, and Bakrid on 28 May in most states.

2026 (actual)2027 (expected)
Ramadan begins19 FebAbout 9 Feb
Eid al-Fitr21 Mar in most of IndiaAbout 9 to 11 Mar
Bakrid (Eid al-Adha)28 May in most statesAbout 17 May

For 2027, Wego gives about 9 February to 10 March as planning dates, and Office Holidays lists Bakrid on 17 May, both subject to moon sighting. Eid in 2027 sits in a crowded March: Holi on 22 March and the cricket season opener (tentatively about 10 March) are close. See the festival calendar for influencers, Holi ideas and cricket season.

The moon plan

Put a two-day window in every contract for Eid-day content. Prepare two edits where the date matters. Schedule Eid posts after the committee announcement, not weeks before. Keep two or three creators on standby for Chaand Raat, the night before, when shopping and mehendi peak. Never announce an Eid date in a campaign yourself. Avoid launches or sales that need a fixed day.

What audiences do online

In our experience, daytime is quiet and viewing peaks in the hour before iftar and again late at night, around sehri. People look for recipes, iftar spreads and what to cook for guests. Through the final ten days, searches move to Eid outfits, gifts, perfumes, mehendi and travel home. Chaand Raat is the busiest night of the month for shopping and beauty content. On Eid day families gather and creators are largely offline, so the content that follows is mostly Stories and photo dumps.

Cities matter. Hyderabad's haleem season, Lucknow's old-city iftar markets and Mumbai's Mohammed Ali Road are known destinations, and our city pages for Hyderabad, Lucknow and Mumbai cover local detail. Kerala has its own Malabar iftar and Eid traditions; see Kochi.

Eleven campaign ideas, from sehri to Eid

Ramadan evenings

  1. Sehri to iftar, a day in one kitchen. Home and family creators film the day's rhythm with your appliance, beverage or pantry staple. Reel plus Stories.
  2. The iftar table. Home creators style a table for six on a budget: dates, tableware, fairy lights. Carousel plus Reel. Suits home and tableware brands.
  3. Iftar in 15 minutes. Food creators cook regional dishes in Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam or Bengali. Recipe Reel with the product in the method.
  4. Hydration and skin through the fast. Beauty creators share routines for skin that is dry from fasting. Any health advice needs a qualified voice.
  5. The late-night food trail. Food creators walk an old-city lane from iftar to sehri. Reel plus Stories. Needs permissions and a clear sponsorship label.

Eid shopping and Chaand Raat

  1. One outfit, three occasions. Fashion creators style a modest or festive outfit for Eid morning, visits and dinner. Lookbook Reel.
  2. Chaand Raat mehendi and makeup night. Mehendi and makeup creators go live or post Stories on the night, with a link to order.
  3. Eid gifts and Eidi. Family creators build gift lists by budget, including gifts for children and elders. Suits gifting, perfume and, with care, payment apps.
  4. Eid brunch. Food creators make sheer khurma, biryani or a dessert with your product. Recipe Reel.
  5. Going home for Eid. Student and professional creators film the journey home. A fit for trains, buses and flights; see travel and hospitality.

Bakrid

  1. The gathering, not the sacrifice. Family creators film outfits, mehendi and the shared meal, in a non-graphic way. Smaller than Eid al-Fitr, with a modest budget.

When to brief, book and post, for Ramadan 2027

Date (2027, expected)Weeks to RamadanAction
1 Dec 202610Brief, budget, and a first conversation with Muslim creators and reviewers
Mid-Dec 20268Creators booked; two-day Eid window in contracts
Early Jan5Kits and outfits shipped; most content shot before the fast begins
25 Jan to 8 Feb2 to 0Teasers: pantry stock-up and iftar planning
9 Feb to 2 Mar0Ramadan wave, posted around iftar and late night
About 2 to 9 MarafterEid shopping peak; creator ads on the best posts
Chaand Raat and EidafterLive and Stories; Eid posts after the announcement
Mid-MarafterReport, then Bakrid brief in early April

Shoot before the fast begins. Creators film with more energy before Ramadan, and the content is ready when the posting window opens. Bakrid on about 17 May falls near Akshaya Tritiya and Mother's Day on 9 May, so book creators early.

Budget notes

Use the ranges in our influencer rates guide: a nano Reel about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000, a micro Reel ₹8,000 to ₹80,000, a micro Story set ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 and a mid-tier Reel ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh. Add about 35 percent for usage rights, our planning figure, and published guides put creator-ad (whitelisting) rights at +60 to 120 percent over an organic post. Regional-language creators in particular can cost less: one guide puts regional-language YouTube channels at 40 to 60 percent below Hindi or English ones, though it is a low-confidence source.

Eid is a gifting and outfit moment, so product and courier are real costs, and a gift a creator keeps is a benefit for tax: over ₹20,000 per creator in a year, section 194R can apply, with exemptions for some small individual creators. See TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments. Management fees are about 15 to 25 percent of creator spend in published benchmarks; use the cost calculator to test a mix.

Respect: do and avoid

DoAvoid
Hire Muslim creators and reviewers from the first brief, and pay them for the idea, not just the postUsing one creator as the voice of a whole community
Shoot before Ramadan and post at iftar and late nightFilming eating or drinking in fasting hours, or scheduling shoots then
Show up through the month and into Eid weekA single Eid greeting on the day with no other presence
Treat prayer, calligraphy and scripture with careUsing verses, calligraphy or prayer as product decoration
Verify halal certification before saying halalClaiming halal, or fasting health benefits, you cannot prove
Tie donations to a real, transparent amount"Buy one, give one" promises you do not honour
Moderate comments and support creators who are abusedPosting and leaving the comments
Keep Bakrid content about family and foodGraphic sacrifice imagery or lecturing
Keep content apoliticalUsing religious festivals as a frame for news or conflict

Disclosure and rules

ASCI requires a label whenever money, free products, gifts or barter connect a creator to a brand, and the label must be upfront. In a Story it goes on the visual; in a Reel of 15 seconds or less it stays on screen for at least 3 seconds; in a live stream it is announced at the start and end. Permitted labels include Ad, Collaboration, Partnership and Free gift. The brand shares responsibility and must be able to back every claim, which includes "halal", health and charity claims. Skin or health advice from a creator beyond a product demo falls under ASCI's health rules, which expect qualifications to be stated upfront. See the ASCI influencer guidelines explained. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Next steps

Match your category: fashion and apparel and FMCG, food and beverage are the two most active. Wedding-season outfit content overlaps with Eid; see wedding season influencer marketing. Frequently asked questions

When are Ramadan and Eid in 2027?

Ramadan is expected to begin about Tuesday 9 February 2027 and end about 10 March, with Eid al-Fitr about 9 to 11 March. Bakrid (Eid al-Adha) is expected about 17 May. These are planning dates: local moon-sighting committees decide the day, and India often follows Saudi Arabia by a day. In 2026 Ramadan began on 19 February and Eid fell on 21 March in most of India.

How do we plan an Eid campaign when the date depends on the moon?

Build a two-day window into every contract, schedule Eid posts after the announcement rather than weeks ahead, and keep a few creators on standby for Chaand Raat. Prepare the content in advance, with edits ready for either date. Do not announce an Eid date yourself, and avoid launches that need a fixed day.

What do audiences do online during Ramadan?

In our experience, daytime is quieter, and viewing peaks in the hour before iftar and again late at night around sehri. People search for recipes, iftar spreads, outfits for Eid, gifts, mehendi and travel home. Shopping builds through the last ten days and peaks on Chaand Raat. Food, fashion, beauty, home and travel brands get the most from it.

Which creators work for Ramadan and Eid campaigns?

Food, fashion, beauty, mehendi, home and family creators, many of them Muslim and writing in Hindi, Urdu, Hyderabadi Urdu, Malayalam, Bengali or Tamil. Cities with strong iftar scenes include Hyderabad, Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai. See our regional influencer marketing service, plus Hyderabad and Lucknow.

How much does a Ramadan or Eid influencer campaign cost?

Creator fees follow published ranges: about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for a nano Reel, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for a micro Reel and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh for a mid-tier Reel. Add outfits or kits, usage rights, creator ads and a management fee of about 15 to 25 percent. See influencer rates in India.

What are the common mistakes in Ramadan and Eid influencer campaigns?

Posting only an Eid greeting on the day, filming eating or drinking in fasting hours, using religious text or prayer as decoration, claiming halal without certification, tying donations to purchases without proof, and having no moderation for abusive comments. Hire Muslim creators and reviewers from the start, and let them shape the idea.
