In short
- We found no published niche multiplier or stream rate for gaming. Build a stream quote from the dedicated-video band at the same tier, then test it against concurrent viewers.
- Compare streamers by cost per viewer-hour: fee divided by average concurrent viewers times hours. In our illustration it ranged from ₹17 to ₹33 across four streamers.
- Compliance is a line item: vet each creator's past feed for betting, confirm the game is not an online money game, and announce the partnership at stream start and end.
- In our three-day beverage-brand event, ₹10.4 lakh of base fees becomes ₹18.3 lakh all-in, 1.76 times, with the lead stream at 58% of base fees.
Gaming creators in India are priced like other YouTube creators until the format is a live stream, and there the published data runs out. We found no gaming multiplier and no sponsored-stream rate in any rate card we reviewed. What exists are the tier bands for dedicated videos (₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh at micro level, ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh at mid-tier), integrations and Shorts, and a method for turning them into a stream quote. This post sets out that method, the other gaming formats, the rules that add cost, and a costed event.
The tier bands for dedicated videos, integrations and Shorts are in our influencer marketing cost guide, and influencer fees by niche in India explains why gaming has no published premium. The legal line on money games is set out in gaming and esports influencer marketing. For the channel as a whole, read the complete guide to influencer marketing in India.
Six gaming formats and how each is priced
| Format | What the brand buys | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|
| Sponsored live stream | A set number of hours with your brand on screen | Per session. Our method: the dedicated-video band at the same tier, tested by concurrent viewers |
| Co-stream | A creator joining a lead stream or watch party | A smaller session fee at micro level |
| 60 to 90 second integration | A segment inside a gameplay video | Micro ₹15,000 to ₹60,000; mid-tier ₹60,000 to ₹2.5 lakh |
| Dedicated first impression or review | A full video on a game, an update or gaming gear | Micro ₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh; mid-tier ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| Shorts and clips | Highlights for launch week | Micro ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 |
| Community event or custom match | A tournament-style event with the creator's audience | Quoted per event; terms and prizes need legal review |
Gaming hardware reviewers sit close to tech creators, whose published premium is 1.3x to 1.5x a beauty baseline, and clip and meme creators sit closer to comedy at 0.7x to 0.9x. Those are the two nearest reference points, not published gaming figures. For the hardware side, see tech influencer rates in India.
Esports players and casters need one extra check. A player signed to a team or a caster contracted to a tournament organiser may be bound by that team's or organiser's sponsor list, and a rival category partner can block your deal after you have briefed it. Ask for the sponsor conflicts in writing before you price the content, and treat a creator who will not share them as a risk. Our post on brand safety guidelines for influencers lists other checks.
Pricing a stream: cost per viewer-hour
A stream is a long, single-brand session, so a dedicated video at the same tier is the nearest published anchor. Then test the quote against the audience that actually watches live. Divide the fee by average concurrent viewers times the hours streamed. This is our method, not a published benchmark.
| Streamer (hypothetical) | Fee for a 3-hour session | Average concurrent viewers | Viewer-hours | Cost per viewer-hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | ₹60,000 | 800 | 2,400 | ₹25 |
| B | ₹2,00,000 | 3,000 | 9,000 | ₹22 |
| C | ₹15,000 | 300 | 900 | ₹17 |
| D | ₹90,000 | 900 | 2,700 | ₹33 |
Streamer B has the highest fee and a lower cost per viewer-hour than A. Streamer D is the dearest per viewer-hour despite a mid-sized fee. The number ranks quotes. It does not decide them, because it ignores replay views, how many chat accounts are real and who is watching. Ask each streamer for concurrency and replay watch time on the last ten streams, a chat sample you can read, and the audience's age and location. A stream with strong concurrency and a chat full of the same emote is not the same as one with real conversation.
What a stream fee should include
Streams are sold as sessions, and in our experience the common disputes come from what the session fee did and did not cover. Settle these before the date.
| Item | Usually inside the fee | Ask or price separately |
|---|---|---|
| Hours live at an agreed start time | Yes | A make-good if the stream starts late or ends early |
| Paid-partnership announcement at the start and end | Yes, and required by ASCI | Nothing, but write it into the brief |
| Brand on screen for the whole session | Yes | Who designs the overlay and who pays for it |
| Spoken mentions at set intervals | Yes | The wording, and whether claims are allowed |
| Chat commands, polls or a giveaway | Sometimes | Legal terms and the cost of any prize |
| Replay kept public | Ask | How many days, and whether it can be edited down |
| Highlight clips for your channels | No | Usage rights, +30% to 50% |
A replay is a deliverable. A stream that vanishes after the weekend leaves you with a live audience and no asset, so ask for the replay to stay public for a stated period, and treat a clip cut from it as a separate piece of content with its own rights.
What moves a gaming quote
- Language. One agency guide puts regional-language YouTube channels 40% to 60% below Hindi or English ones. Many game communities are regional, so this can lower cost and raise fit.
- Exclusivity. Thirty days of no rival title or brand adds 30% to 50%. Name two or three rivals, not the whole genre.
- Rights and ads. Usage rights for ads add about 30% to 50%, and whitelisting adds 60% to 120% over an organic post, with media typically 2x to 4x the creator fee. This matters for user-acquisition campaigns.
- Rush. Under 48 hours adds 25% to 40% in one booking platform's guide, and launch-day streams invite it.
- Production. On-screen assets, alerts and panels run from about ₹5,000 to several lakh in one rate card. Ask who designs them and who approves them.
The compliance cost in gaming
Illegal betting was 54% of ASCI's influencer violations in FY2025-26, and in April to September 2025, 683 of the 1,173 influencer ads ASCI processed were offshore betting, per its half-yearly report. A gaming creator's older feed may carry that content, so the cost shows up as work you do before you sign.
- Clean-feed vetting. Read the last 90 days and the pinned content for betting promotion, and keep a dated record. Our post on surrogate advertising and betting rules explains why the association matters.
- A written status for the game. The Online Gaming Act, 2025 bars advertising an online money game, and PIB's reply of 18 March 2026 gives penalties of up to two years in prison or a fine up to ₹50 lakh or both. For a title with in-app purchases or prizes, get counsel's written view before a creator is briefed. Count one confirmation per title.
- Live announcements. ASCI's guidelines require live streams to announce the paid partnership at the start and the end, so the brief carries a script for both.
- Younger audiences. The DPDP Act and Rules require verifiable parental consent and bar tracking and targeted advertising aimed at children, according to PIB, with the main duties expected from around May 2027. Age-gate sign-ups and giveaways now.
- Giveaways. Written terms and legal review before any code, item or prize is briefed.
This is general information, not legal advice. Laws change, so confirm the position with counsel before each gaming brief.
Example: a beverage brand's three-day streamed weekend
| Line | Basis | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Lead stream | 1 macro creator, 6 hours | ₹6,00,000 |
| Co-streams | 8 micro creators, 2 hours each, at ₹40,000 | ₹3,20,000 |
| Shorts | 12 clip creators at ₹10,000 | ₹1,20,000 |
| Base creator fees | ₹10,40,000 | |
| 30-day exclusivity against rival beverages | +40% on the lead stream | ₹2,40,000 |
| Usage rights, 60 days | +35% on the 12 Shorts | ₹42,000 |
| Creator spend | ₹13,22,000 | |
| Management fee | 15%, the low end of the published range, for a larger plan | ₹1,98,300 |
| GST | 18% on creator spend and fee | ₹2,73,654 |
| On-screen asset pack | Overlays, alerts and panels (assumed, before any GST) | ₹40,000 |
| All-in cost | ₹18,33,954 |
All-in is 1.76 times the base fees. The lead stream is 58% of base fees, at ₹1,00,000 an hour against ₹20,000 an hour for a co-stream, and it carries the whole exclusivity premium, so it is the line to negotiate hardest. A shorter window or fewer named rivals trims that ₹2.4 lakh. Not included: prizes, giveaway fulfilment, counsel's time and ad media. For a public reference, a 2025 cold-coffee launch used a lead Minecraft streamer plus 27 other streamers, and the lead stream drew 1.2 million views over a weekend, according to exchange4media. No costs were published.

Frequently asked questions
How much do gaming influencers charge in India?
We found no published gaming multiplier. Price a YouTube gaming creator from the tier bands: a dedicated video runs ₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh at micro level and ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh at mid-tier, a 60 to 90 second integration ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 at micro, and a Short ₹8,000 to ₹40,000. Streams are quoted per session. See YouTube influencer rates in India.
How do you price a sponsored live stream?
No reliable published range exists for sponsored streams in India. We start from the dedicated-video band at the same tier, then compare quotes by cost per viewer-hour: the fee divided by average concurrent viewers times hours. Ask for concurrency and replay watch time from the last ten streams. See live session influencer campaign ideas.
Can brands promote online money games or betting through influencers?
No. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bars advertising online money games in any media, with penalties of up to two years in prison or a fine up to ₹50 lakh or both. E-sports are excluded from the definition, but confirm status with counsel. This is general information, not legal advice. See surrogate advertising and betting rules.
What must a gaming creator disclose on a live stream?
ASCI's guidelines require live streams to announce the paid partnership at the start and the end. For recorded video, the label must show for at least 3 seconds in a video of 15 seconds or less, for one third of the length up to 2 minutes, and for the whole brand section beyond that. See influencer disclosure hashtags and labels.
Do regional-language gaming creators cost less?
One agency guide puts regional-language YouTube channels 40% to 60% below Hindi or English channels. In our event example a micro co-stream priced at ₹40,000 would be ₹24,000 at a 40% discount. Check that the audience can use your product and speaks the language. See regional language influencer rates.
Are gaming audiences too young for brand campaigns?
Some are. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act and Rules require verifiable parental consent and bar tracking and targeted advertising aimed at children, with the main duties expected from around May 2027. Check audience age in analytics, age-gate sign-ups and giveaways, and avoid forms that collect minors' data. See children in influencer ads in India.
