How to run a LinkedIn creator campaign: a six-week B2B plan from buyer title to pipeline

A LinkedIn creator campaign works when the buyer is defined by job title and the posts run as a series, not a burst. Brief on the buyer's problem, put the label in the first line, agree a lead hand-off and measure demos and pipeline, not impressions.

In short

  • Define the buyer by job title and company size first, then ask each creator what share of their impressions reaches those roles.
  • Run three or four creators across six weeks as a series. B2B buyers need repeated, spaced exposure, and one post rarely moves a pipeline.
  • Agree the lead hand-off before posting: prospects reply in comments and direct messages, and your sales team should answer within one working day.
  • Report in layers (attention, interest, intent, pipeline) with a CRM source field and sales reviews at 30, 60 and 90 days.

To run a LinkedIn creator campaign, define the buyer by job title and company size, pick one action you can track, cast three or four creators whose audiences contain those roles, brief them on the buyer's problem rather than your pitch, run the posts as a six-week series, sponsor the best ones with the creator's permission and report pipeline with your sales team at 30, 60 and 90 days. Our LinkedIn and B2B creator marketing service page explains who the creators are; this is the plan for a brand team.

The channel as a whole is covered in our guide to influencer marketing in India. For post types, read LinkedIn creator content formats for B2B, and for the sector view, influencer marketing for SaaS and B2B.

Step 1: define the buyer by title, not by industry

An industry label reaches everyone and nobody. Write down who is in the deal.

RoleExample titlesWhat they askContent that reaches them
Economic buyerFounder, CFO, head of a functionIs it worth the money?Cost, risk and payback stories
ChampionManager who will use it dailyWill it make my week easier?Workflow walkthroughs
EvaluatorOperations, IT or analyst rolesDoes it integrate, is it safe?Comparisons, checklists
BlockerFinance, legal, securityWhat could go wrong?Objection-handling posts

Our SaaS and B2B post shows how the roles map to creators in one sector.

Step 2: pick one action and set up tracking

GoalActionTracking
PipelineDemo requestForm with a hidden creator field and a UTM per creator and post
EducationWebinar registrationUTM, then attendance by source
TrialFree-trial sign-upUTM and a source field in the product database
AuthoritySaves, profile visits, branded searchCreator analytics and Search Console

Add a "how did you hear about us" field to your demo form, with LinkedIn creator as an option, and a CRM source for sales to log creator mentions. Our guide to UTM links shows the structure.

Step 3: cast on audience roles and comment quality

Ask for the last ten posts' impressions and the audience breakdown by job title and industry from the creator's own analytics. Then price on target-role impressions: fee divided by average impressions, multiplied by the share in your roles, per 1,000. Our post on LinkedIn influencer rates works an example.

CheckWhy it matters
Comment qualityDozens of one-line praise comments from one circle can look strong and mean little
Sponsored posts in the last monthA feed full of them lowers trust in each
Credentials for finance or health topicsASCI's Addendum II requires relevant qualifications stated upfront
Competitor or conflicting dealsFounders often promote their own tools
Past posts with a brand in themDo they perform near the creator's organic posts?

For sourcing, see finding LinkedIn creators in India, and score creators on our 100-point Gully Score as in every campaign.

Step 4: design a series, not a post

B2B buyers need repeated, spaced exposure. Use three or four creators across six weeks, one post a week, rotating, with an arc.

WeekMessageFormatExample creator type

3How peers handle it todayCarouselFounder-operator
4Where your product fits in the workflowShort video or textFunctional expert
5The objections buyers raiseCarouselEvaluator-type voice
6Invitation to a demo or webinarText post plus linkWhoever drew the best comments

A newsletter issue can sit alongside, priced per edition, with open and click reporting agreed up front.

Step 5: contract the details that matter on LinkedIn

On top of the standard clauses in our influencer contract guide:

  • Label. A clear label such as Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration or Partnership in the first lines, above the point where LinkedIn folds the post behind "see more". ASCI recorded 121 LinkedIn violations in FY2024-25.
  • Claims. Only claims you can substantiate; no return or performance promises in finance.
  • Competitor exclusivity. Named rivals, for a stated window; about 40% for 30 days in our planning default.
  • Sponsor rights. Permission to run chosen posts as Thought Leader Ads, for a stated period; about 35% on the fee in our planning default.
  • Comment duty. The creator replies to comments for 48 hours after posting.
  • Insights. Screenshots of impressions and audience at 7 and 30 days.

LinkedIn's own rules for sponsoring: the post must be public, the author's profile must show their full name and the author approves the request in Campaign Manager, and can revoke it, at which point the ad stops. Single-image, video and document ads carry no call-to-action button, so the link goes in the intro text. Polls, multi-image posts and reposts cannot be sponsored.

Step 6: brief the problem, approve the points

A good B2B brief describes the situation your product addresses, the three objections prospects raise, the claims allowed and not allowed, and the action you want. Then ask for the creator's own story: a mistake, a workflow change, a number they track. Approve the points, the claims and the label rather than every sentence; a script reads stiff. Two revision rounds are standard in our contracts. For the brief layout, see our campaign brief template.

Step 7: agree the lead hand-off before the first post

Prospects will comment "interested" or message the creator directly. If nobody owns that, the lead goes cold.

EventWho actsWithin
Public comment with interestCreator thanks them and points to your form24 hours
Direct message to the creatorCreator forwards the contact to your sales lead1 working day
Form submission with a creator sourceSales contacts the prospect1 working day
Any conversationSales logs the creator in CRMSame day

Those service levels are our practice, not a standard. Their purpose is to make sure the campaign can be traced when a deal closes in month three.

Step 8: sponsor the best two posts and report in layers

Pick posts by the quality of comments and the share of impressions in your target roles, not by reactions. Run each as a Thought Leader Ad at equal spend and compare cost per click and cost per demo request with your own company-page ads. Report in four layers:

LayerMetricsWhen
AttentionImpressions, members reachedDays 7 and 30
InterestComment quality, saves, profile visitsDays 7 and 30
IntentTracked clicks, demo requests, registrationsDay 30
PipelineSales conversations, opportunities influencedDays 30, 60, 90

Rank creators on cost per qualified action, not impressions. See how to measure influencer marketing ROI.

What a six-week series costs

Published LinkedIn asking prices are thin and low confidence: about ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh a post for 30K to 100K followers in two related guides, and ₹10,000 to ₹35,000 for micro creators in a booking platform's card. One guide says LinkedIn creators charge two to three times Instagram rates for a similar following. The table multiplies three assumed fees inside that band.

ShapePostsAt ₹40,000At ₹60,000At ₹1 lakh
A test: 3 creators, 1 post each3₹1.2 lakh₹1.8 lakh₹3 lakh
A six-week series: 3 creators, 3 posts each9₹3.6 lakh₹5.4 lakh₹9 lakh
A wider push: 6 creators, 2 posts each12₹4.8 lakh₹7.2 lakh₹12 lakh

Add about 35% for sponsor rights, about 40% for 30 days of exclusivity and up to 50% for premium niches such as finance and tech. GST at 18 percent, the agency fee and ad media are separate. Our cost guide explains how to read each figure, and a LinkedIn post that reaches few of your target roles is poor value at any price.

When LinkedIn is the wrong answer

Skip it when you sell to consumers, when your buyer is a student rather than a professional, or when you cannot answer a prospect within a working day. Start with the best platform for influencer marketing in India if you are unsure, and consider YouTube for explanatory B2B content.

Mistakes that waste a B2B creator fee

  • A big audience in the wrong job function. Reach is not the same as buyers.
  • One post and stop. Plan a series.
  • No hand-off. Leads reply in comments and go cold.
  • Impressions as the only metric. Track demos and source.
  • Pitch posts. Lead with the buyer's problem.

Frequently asked questions

How do I run a LinkedIn influencer campaign for B2B in India?

Define the buyer by job title, choose one measurable action such as demo requests, cast three or four creators whose audiences contain those roles, brief on the buyer's problem, run a six-week series, sponsor the best posts if the creator agrees and report pipeline at 30, 60 and 90 days. Our LinkedIn B2B service shows the full approach.

How much does a LinkedIn creator charge in India?

Published asking prices run about ₹40,000 to ₹2.4 lakh a post for 30K to 100K followers according to two related guides, and a booking platform quotes ₹10,000 to ₹35,000 for micro creators. All are low confidence. Price on target-role impressions, not followers. See LinkedIn influencer rates in India.

Can I sponsor a creator's LinkedIn post?

Yes, as a Thought Leader Ad, if the post is public, the author's profile shows their full name and the author approves the request in Campaign Manager. Text, image, video and document posts qualify; polls and reposts do not. Get permission and a usage fee into the contract first. See LinkedIn creator content formats for B2B.

How long does a LinkedIn creator campaign take to show pipeline?

Expect attention in days and pipeline in months. We report engagement and tracked clicks at 7 and 30 days, and review sales conversations and opportunities with your sales team at 30, 60 and 90 days. B2B buyers often see a post, discuss it internally and request a demo from a search result weeks later. See how to measure influencer marketing ROI.

What does ASCI say about disclosure on LinkedIn?

The same rules as everywhere: a clear label such as Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration or Partnership, placed upfront and prominently, not only in the bio or behind a see-more link. ASCI recorded 121 LinkedIn violations in FY2024-25. Read our ASCI influencer guidelines explainer.

How do I find LinkedIn creators for my industry?

Start from the buyer's work profile, then search by topic, newsletters, event speakers and the comment sections under posts your buyers read. Ask for audience breakdown by job title before you talk price. Our guide to finding LinkedIn creators in India lists seven routes and a ten-day plan.
