In short
- Build one landing page per creator ad family: one creator, one claim, one action. The first screen should repeat the ad's promise.
- Compare Meta's landing page views with link clicks. The gap is people who clicked and left before the page loaded, so fix speed before judging the creative.
- Google's destination rules check that the page works, matches the ad and offers original value. ASCI adds drip pricing, false urgency, bait and switch and disguised ads.
- Test one thing at a time, in whole weeks, with a stop rule written first. Creator video against your own video is the first test worth running.
A landing page built around a creator video has one job: continue what the ad started. Same creator, same claim, same offer, and a page that loads fast on a phone. Put the video where the ad's promise lands, repeat the claim in text, show proof and keep one button. Everything else on the page is a reason to leave.
Our UGC creators service makes the videos, and our usage rights guide covers the rights to run them on a page as well as in an ad. This post covers the campaign page. For the catalogue page that sits on your site all year, see influencer content for product pages, and for tagging the traffic see our UTM links guide. The wider picture is in our guide to influencer marketing in India. Menu names change in every ad platform, so confirm each setting on screen.
A landing page is not a product page
| Product page | Campaign landing page | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Sell a catalogue item to anyone who finds it | Finish one ad's promise for one audience |
| Entry | Search, browsing, many ads | One ad family |
| Creator content | A few clips that answer questions | One creator and one claim, matching the ad |
| Navigation | The full menu | Minimal, or none |
| Lifetime | Months or years | The campaign window |
| Test cadence | Slow | Weekly |
Match the ad, element by element
| Element | In the ad | On the page |
|---|---|---|
| Creator | The face and name viewers saw | The same person, visible in the first screen |
| Claim | One line | The same words as the headline |
| Offer | A code or a price | The same code or price, pre-applied where you can |
| Language | The creator's language | The page in the same language |
| Proof | The demo or result in the video | The same moment as a still, plus a line of text |
| Button | The ad's call to action | One matching button, repeated at the end |
Mismatch is the commonest leak. If you buy Google or YouTube ads, Google's destination requirements disapprove ads whose display domain does not match the page they reach, and ads whose tracking template leads to different content from the final URL. The same discipline helps on Meta: the click should arrive where the promise continues.
A page structure that works
| Block | What goes there | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Headline and video | A headline that echoes the ad claim, with the creator video beneath it | A poster frame, captions, a muted loop with tap to unmute; use the winning cut from the ad test |
| 2. Offer line | The price including non-optional charges, and the code applied | ASCI's drip-pricing rule, below |
| 3. Proof | Three lines stating what the video shows | Claims from your sheet only |
| 4. What you get | Pack contents, sizes and variants | As on a product page |
| 5. Objections | Four short answers: returns, delivery time, how to use it, who it suits | Take them from the comments under the ad |
| 6. Creator note | One approved line from the creator, labelled as a paid collaboration | Never styled as a customer review |
| 7. Button | One call to action, sticky on mobile | The same words as the ad |
Check the first screen on a phone before anything else. The creator, the claim and the button should all be visible without scrolling.
Which clip goes on the page
Use the ad's winning cut, with the same creator. The visitor arrived because of that face and that line, and changing either breaks the match. Offer a second, longer demo below the fold for people who want more, and use one creator per page unless you are running a deliberate test. Our partnership ads creative testing guide explains how to find the winner.
Check the rights: the clip must be licensed for the page and for the ad, for the same window. Site use is a separate line in our usage rights ladder, and the page should come down on the day the window ends.
Speed first: the gap between clicks and loads
Meta's website landing page views metric counts how many times your website loaded after an ad was clicked. Meta says you can compare it with link clicks to see how many people clicked but left before the site loaded. It is tracked when people use Meta's in-app browser or when a Meta Pixel is installed on the page, and it may be estimated, so install the Pixel on the landing page before you read the number.
Here is a made-up example. An ad earns 10,000 link clicks and 7,400 landing page views. That is a 74 percent load rate, so 2,600 clicks never saw the page. No creative change fixes that loss. Fix speed first, then judge the video. Google's Core Web Vitals give the targets: loading within 2.5 seconds, interaction in 200 milliseconds or less and a layout shift of 0.1 or less, at the 75th percentile. Our practice is a poster image, a compressed video, a content delivery network and a test on a mid-range phone on mobile data.
Meta's best practices add one budget point. A conversion-optimised ad set needs about 50 or more of its conversion per week to be effective, and when it cannot reach that, landing page view optimisation can be an alternative. For a small-budget creator page, that is often the sensible starting goal.
Honesty rules for a creator landing page
ASCI's guidelines on online deceptive design patterns, effective from 1 September 2023, cover four patterns that a campaign page can slip into. See ASCI's guidelines.
| Pattern | What ASCI says | On a creator landing page |
|---|---|---|
| Drip pricing | Quoted prices in ads and e-commerce sites must include non-optional taxes, duties, fees and charges that apply to all or most buyers | Show the price the buyer will pay, not a price that grows at checkout |
| Bait and switch | An ad that implies one outcome but serves another is misleading, for example a lower price that is not available when clicked | The page must deliver the offer in the ad |
| False urgency | Stating or implying that stock is more limited than it is is misleading, and the advertiser must show the stock position when the message appeared | A "last few" line must be true on the day, and a countdown must not restart for each visitor |
| Disguised ads | An ad in a format similar to editorial or organic content must clearly disclose it is an ad; influencer posts and paid reviews are examples | Label the creator content as a paid collaboration |
Add three habits. Keep the creator's own on-screen label inside the clip. Check every claim against your claims sheet. And keep the creator's written consent to show their name and face on the page. See our ASCI explainer. This is general information, not legal advice.
Tracking without double counting
Give every creator and ad family its own tagged link, as our UTM links guide explains, and give each creator a code where your checkout supports it; see tracking influencer sales with discount codes. Choose one source of truth for the result, and show the platform's number and your site's number side by side instead of adding them. Check that every tracking template resolves to the same content as the page you intended.
A test plan
| Test | Version A | Version B | Decision metric |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Creator video | Your own brand-made video | Conversion rate to your result |
| 2 | Creator X's clip | Creator Y's clip | The same |
| 3 | Offer one | Offer two | Conversion rate and margin |
| 4 | Short page | Page with objections and a second demo | The same |
Run them in that order. Change one thing per test, split traffic with your testing tool and run for whole weeks. Do not change the ad creative during the test, and record the load rate in both arms, since a slower arm can look like a worse creative. Write the stop rule before launch: pause an arm only when your tool reports a clear loser at the sample size it asks for, or when page speed fails. We know of no published benchmark for conversion lift from creator video on landing pages, and we do not quote one.
What the creator should shoot for the page
- The claim and the offer early, in the creator's own words.
- The product in use, with the result visible.
- The closing line matching the button, for example "tap the green button for the code".
- No URLs, handles or prices burned into the frame, because they change faster than the file.
- Captions on and a vertical or square frame, as most visitors arrive on a phone.
Mistakes that waste the click
- A homepage as the destination. The promise gets lost in the menu.
- A different creator on the page. The visitor wonders if they are in the right place.
- Judging the video before fixing the load rate. A page that does not load cannot convert.
- A fake countdown. It is a false-urgency pattern in ASCI's guidelines.
- A creator note dressed as a customer review. It is a disguised ad.

Frequently asked questions
What is a landing page view on Meta?
Meta counts a landing page view when someone clicks your ad link and the destination page loads. Comparing it with link clicks shows how many people clicked but left before the page loaded. Meta says it is tracked in its in-app browser or with a Meta Pixel installed, and may be estimated. See our UTM links guide.
Should a landing page use the same creator as the ad?
Yes, as a rule. The visitor clicked because of that person and that claim, so the page should show the same face and words on the first screen. Test a different creator only as a deliberate A/B test. Check the rights cover both the ad and the page; see our usage rights guide.
How fast should a landing page load?
Google's Core Web Vitals targets are loading within 2.5 seconds, interaction in 200 milliseconds and a layout shift of 0.1 or less, at the 75th percentile. Use a poster image, compress the video and test on a mid-range phone on mobile data. Meta's landing page view count shows how many clicks never loaded. See influencer content for product pages.
Do landing pages with creator videos need a disclosure?
Yes, in our view. ASCI says an ad in a format similar to organic or editorial content must clearly disclose that it is an ad, and gives influencer posts and paid reviews as examples. Label the clip as a paid collaboration and keep the creator's own on-screen label. This is general information, not legal advice. See our ASCI explainer.
Can I use a countdown timer or a low-stock line?
Only if it is true. ASCI lists false urgency as a deceptive pattern: stating or implying that stock is more limited than it is. In a complaint, the advertiser must show the stock position when the message appeared. A timer that restarts for every visitor is not true. See our compliance checklist for brands.
What should I test first on a creator landing page?
Test the creator video against your own brand-made video on the same page, with everything else equal, because that answers whether the creator content earns its place. Run it for whole weeks and read conversion rate and page load rate in both arms. Our partnership ads creative testing guide covers the paid-media equivalent.
