In short

  • Typical asking prices per Instagram Reel run about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for nano, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for micro and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh for mid-tier creators, before GST.
  • Followers set your band. Median views, niche and audience city set your place in it. Check the cost per 1,000 views a brand will calculate from your quote.
  • Usage rights, exclusivity, whitelisting and rush are separate lines, each published at a range. Never fold them into the base fee.
  • These are asking prices from published rate cards, not audited deals, and one band can differ by 2x between sources. Review your rates every quarter.

Indian creators typically ask about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for an Instagram Reel if they are nano, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 if they are micro and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh if they are mid-tier, all before GST. Those are asking prices from published rate cards, not audited deals. To find your own number, start from your tier's range, place yourself in it with your median views, and add rights, exclusivity and GST as separate lines.

Our guide to influencer marketing cost in India prices every tier and platform from the brand's side. This post turns the same ranges into a method you can run on your own account in twenty minutes. The market behind it is explained in our complete guide to influencer marketing in India.

The ranges, by tier and format

FormatNano (1K to 10K)Micro (10K to 100K)Mid-tier (100K to 500K)
Instagram Reel₹2,000 to ₹10,000₹8,000 to ₹80,000₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh
Story set (3 to 5 frames)₹1,000 to ₹5,000₹5,000 to ₹20,000₹20,000 to ₹80,000
Static post or carousel₹1,000 to ₹8,000₹5,000 to ₹50,000₹30,000 to ₹2 lakh
YouTube dedicated video₹5,000 to ₹20,000₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh
YouTube integration (60 to 90 s)₹3,000 to ₹12,000₹15,000 to ₹60,000₹60,000 to ₹2.5 lakh
YouTube Short₹2,000 to ₹8,000₹8,000 to ₹40,000₹40,000 to ₹1.5 lakh

These are typical ranges used across this site, drawn from the median of nine published Indian rate cards from 2025 and 2026. The same band can differ by 2x or more between sources, and several cards share near-identical figures, so read them as a map, not a price list. Macro and mega ranges are in the rates guide. For format detail, see Instagram influencer rates and YouTube influencer rates.

Step 1: find your band

Pick your tier from your follower count today. A creator at 12,000 followers and one at 95,000 are both micro, so the next step does the real work. If you are close to a boundary, quote from the band that matches your median views, not your follower count.

Step 2: place yourself inside the band

Followers set the band. These five things set your place in it.

FactorMoves you up whenMoves you down when
Median views against followersYour Reels reach most followers and some strangersViews are a small share of followers
NicheFinance, tech, parenting: published multipliers of 1.2x to 2xComedy: 0.7x to 0.9x in one guide
Audience location and fitYour audience matches the brand's buyerAudience is mostly outside the brand's market
ExperienceYou have labelled brand posts and a rate cardThis is your first deal
ProductionYou script, shoot and edit to ad qualityYou post unedited clips

Smaller-city audiences often engage more. A 2026 vendor survey, covered by Campaign India, reports engagement of 3 to 4 percent in metros and 4.5 to 5.5 percent in tier 3 and 4 cities, so price the audience, not your address. Niche premiums are covered in influencer fees by niche.

Step 3: use views as a floor and the band as a ceiling

One micro-creator-focused guide gives a rule of thumb: divide your average views by 1,000 and multiply by ₹100 to ₹400, depending on niche. It has low confidence and no stated method, so use it as a floor for awareness-only work, not as your price. The tier range is your ceiling. Your quote sits between them, higher for strong niche, audience fit and production.

Then check what the brand will compute: fee divided by median views, times 1,000, which is the cost per 1,000 views. No reliable India benchmark exists for creator sponsorships, so brands compare you with their own paid-media cost. A creator with 14,000 median views quoting ₹15,000 costs about ₹1,071 per 1,000 views, and the same creator at ₹40,000 costs about ₹2,857. Know your number before you say the price.

Step 4: price the extras as separate lines

ExtraPublished rangeSite calculator uses
Brand repost on its own handle+25 to 40%not separate
Usage rights (ads, website)+30 to 50%+35%
Exclusivity, 30 days+30 to 50%+40%
Exclusivity, 90 days+80 to 150%not separate
Perpetual usage+80 to 150%not separate
Whitelisting or partnership ads+60 to 120%, or +20 to 50% per 30 daysnot separate
Rush, under 48 hours+25 to 40%not separate
Revisions beyond two rounds₹5,000 to ₹30,000 eachnot separate
Premium niche (finance, tech)1.3x to 2x+50%

These figures come from published rate guides, several of low confidence, and are asking prices. The reasons behind each are in usage rights for influencer content and the exclusivity clause. Whitelisting means the brand runs your post as an ad from your handle, as covered in our creator ads and whitelisting service.

Step 5: package and tax

A Story set is typically priced at 40 to 60 percent of the feed-post rate in one guide. Bundles of Reel, Stories and post usually earn a 20 to 35 percent discount against buying separately in another. Offer a package price, and keep rights outside it. If you are GST-registered, add 18 percent at the end, and if you are not, add nothing. Registration becomes compulsory above ₹20 lakh of annual turnover, or ₹10 lakh in special-category states. See GST registration for influencers.

Two worked quotes

All creators here are invented, and the arithmetic is ours.

Hybrid deals: count the product at its value

Brands often offer product plus a small fee. Add the two together before you compare with your floor. A ₹3,000 fee plus a product worth ₹2,500 is ₹5,500 of value, which is below the ₹5,800 floor in the example below, so the deal needs a higher fee or a smaller scope.

A product you keep is also a taxable benefit. Under section 194R, a brand that is not exempt must deduct 10 percent TDS once benefits pass ₹20,000 in a year, valued at the brand's purchase price, and your CA can confirm how it applies to you. Our barter collaboration guide shows when a swap is fair, and how to move a good barter partner to a paid fee.

Set your floor before you hear the offer

A floor is the lowest price at which the work still pays you. Add up your time for concept, shoot, edit and revisions at an hourly rate you set, then add direct costs such as props, travel or an editor.

For example, 10 hours at ₹500 is ₹5,000, plus ₹800 of props: a floor of ₹5,800. If a brand's offer is below your floor, decline or cut the scope, and never accept it and resent it later. Your floor, your target and your opening ask are three different numbers; how to negotiate brand deals shows how to use them.

A quote message you can send

Once a brand has shared the scope, a three-line reply does the job:

Thanks for the brief. For one Reel (up to 45 seconds, two revision rounds) my fee is ₹[amount]. Paid usage in ads is +₹[amount] per 30 days and exclusivity for named competitors is +₹[amount] per 30 days. Fees are before GST; I am [registered, number / not registered]. Draft within 7 days of the product reaching me, and I am happy to adjust the scope if the budget is fixed.

It states the base, prices the extras so the brand can choose, and offers a way to meet a tight budget by removing scope instead of discounting the work. If you are unsure how a brand will read the quote, our guide to influencer outreach messages shows the brand's side of the exchange.

Review your rates every quarter

Prices move. One booking platform reports 2026 fee rises from 5 to 15 percent for food and travel creators to 40 to 70 percent for AI and tech creators, with personal finance, health and real estate in between. That is a platform's claim about asking prices, not audited data, but it points one way: a card from last year is stale. Each quarter, recompute your median views and engagement, compare with the ranges above, and date your rate page. Our media kit template has a rates page you can reuse, and the brand-side influencer rate card guide shows how a buyer reads it.

Common pricing mistakes

  • Pricing from followers only. Two accounts of 40,000 followers can average 4,000 and 16,000 views.
  • One price for everything. A single fee hides rights and exclusivity you could be paid for.
  • Copying another creator's card. Their audience, niche and costs are not yours.
  • Going low for exposure. A low fee for broad rights costs you twice, once now and once when the brand reuses the clip.
  • Quoting before you know the scope. Ask for deliverables, rights and dates first.
  • Leaving tax out. Say whether GST is added, and know how TDS appears on payments; see TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a nano influencer charge per Reel in India?

Published asking prices for a nano creator, under 10,000 followers, run about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 per Reel before GST, with outliers from ₹500 to ₹15,000. Many nano creators start with product or a small fee. Quote from your median views and ask for rights and exclusivity as separate lines. See nano influencer rates.

How much should a micro influencer charge per Reel in India?

Micro creators, 10,000 to 100,000 followers, typically ask ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 per Reel, with the low end for 10K to 25K accounts and the top end for 75K to 100K. Niche, median views and audience location decide where you land. Our micro influencer rates post splits the band further.

How do I calculate my influencer rate from views?

One published rule of thumb divides your average views by 1,000 and multiplies by ₹100 to ₹400, depending on niche. Treat it as a floor for pure awareness work, and the tier range as your ceiling. Where you land in between depends on niche, rights, audience and experience. It is a low-confidence rule, not a standard.

How much extra should I charge for usage rights and exclusivity?

Published guides put a brand repost at +25 to 40%, usage rights at +30 to 50%, 30 days of exclusivity at +30 to 50% and 90 days at +80 to 150%. These are asking prices, not rules. List each as its own line so a brand can accept or decline it. See usage rights for influencer content.

Should an influencer charge GST?

Only if you are registered, which is required once annual turnover passes ₹20 lakh, or ₹10 lakh in special-category states. If you are registered, GST at 18 percent is added on top of your fee. If not, do not add it. Read GST registration for influencers and check with a CA.

Do influencer rates differ by niche?

Yes. One published guide puts finance at 1.5x to 2x a beauty baseline, tech at 1.3x to 1.5x, parenting at 1.2x to 1.5x and comedy at 0.7x to 0.9x. Food and gaming have no published multiplier, so use quotes from similar creators. See influencer fees by niche for the details.
