In short
- Micro creators ask ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 per Reel, ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 per Story set and ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 per static post, before GST.
- Inside the micro tier, price rises almost in step with followers: one card's bands work out to about ₹870 to ₹940 per 1,000 followers. Compare creators on views instead.
- Barter suits creators near 10K to 25K followers who want the product. Nearer 50K, expect a fee, or a hybrid of a small fee plus product.
- Only 15.2 percent of surveyed creators are registered as a business or GST individual, so many micro creators will not issue a GST invoice. Ask early.
Micro influencers in India, with 10,000 to 1 lakh followers, typically charge ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for an Instagram Reel, ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 for a Story set and ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 for a static post, before GST. The band is wide because a creator with 12,000 followers and one with 95,000 followers are both "micro", and published cards disagree on where each should sit.
Our guide to influencer marketing cost in India prices every tier. This post stays inside the micro tier: it splits the band into sub-bands, compares eight published cards, shows what decides where a creator lands, and covers barter, paperwork and a worked 12-creator plan. For a quick estimate use the influencer cost calculator. New to creator marketing? Start with our complete guide to influencer marketing in India.
How much do micro influencers charge in India?
| Format | Typical asking price, micro creator | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reel | ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 | The low end fits 10K to 25K accounts and the high end fits 75K to 100K |
| Story set (3 to 5 frames) | ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 | Check the number of frames in the quote |
| Static post or carousel | ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 | Cards price both together |
| YouTube dedicated video | ₹20,000 to ₹1.2 lakh | See our YouTube rates post |
| YouTube integration | ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 | 60 to 90 seconds |
| YouTube Short | ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 | Priced close to a Reel |
Typical Instagram engagement for micro creators runs at 3 to 6 percent of followers in these benchmarks, and one card puts accounts of 10K to 50K at about 4 to 8 percent. Neither states a method, so use them to screen and then check each creator's real numbers. Our engagement rate calculator does that arithmetic.
Micro rates by follower sub-band
Only one published card splits the micro tier into steps. It is a single source, so treat it as indicative.
| Sub-band | Reel price (one card) | Midpoint | Implied price per 1,000 followers |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10K to 25K followers | ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 | ₹16,500 | about ₹940 |
| 25K to 50K followers | ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 | ₹32,500 | about ₹870 |
| 50K to 100K followers | ₹30,000 to ₹1 lakh | ₹65,000 | about ₹870 |
The last column is our arithmetic: the band midpoint divided by the midpoint of the follower range. The pattern is the point. Within micro, this card's price rises almost in step with followers. On this card, price follows audience size more than the views that audience delivers.
That is why followers are the wrong yardstick for micro creators. Two accounts of 40,000 followers can average 4,000 and 16,000 Reel views. At the same ₹20,000 fee, the first costs ₹5,000 per 1,000 views and the second ₹1,250.
What eight published cards say about a micro Reel
| Source type (date) | Micro Reel |
|---|---|
| Digital agency guide (Apr 2026) | ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 |
| Media agency rate guide (May 2026) | ₹8,000 to ₹75,000 |
| Brand-deals guide (Mar 2026) | ₹8,000 to ₹1 lakh |
| Influencer platform guide (Jun 2026) | ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 |
| Agency guide (Aug 2026) | ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 |
| Talent-booking platform (Mar 2026) | ₹20,000 to ₹90,000 |
| Celebrity marketplace (2026) | ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 |
| Creator-education guide (Aug 2026) | ₹5,000 to ₹75,000 |
Three of these cards share near-identical figures (the first, second and fifth rows), so the eight are closer to six independent views. The floor ranges from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 and the ceiling from ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh. The two lowest ceilings come from a platform guide and a marketplace that may define micro more narrowly. Our working range of ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 is the median of these floors and ceilings, rounded.
What decides where a micro creator lands
Follower count sets the band. These signals set the position in it:
- Average views against followers. A creator whose Reels reach most of their followers, and some who do not follow them, deserves the upper half. One whose views are a small fraction of followers deserves the lower half.
- Niche. Finance and tech creators price above beauty and food. See our post on influencer fees by niche.
- Audience location. An influencer platform's 2026 survey, covered by Campaign India, reports engagement of 3 to 4 percent in metros and 4.5 to 5.5 percent in tier 3 and 4 cities. Audiences in smaller cities often engage more, so price the audience and not the creator's address.
- Brand experience. A creator with a rate card and previous brand posts will quote higher than one on a first brand deal. That is a fair reason, and it comes with fewer surprises in delivery.
- Content you can reuse. A Reel you can run as an ad is worth more than one that lives only on the grid. Whitelisting adds 60 to 120 percent over an organic post in one published card, so buy that right on purpose.
One published rule of thumb, from a micro-creator-focused source, divides average views by 1,000 and multiplies by ₹100 to ₹400. For a creator averaging 9,000 views that gives ₹900 to ₹3,600, far below the band. Use the rule as a floor for a pure awareness buy and the card as the ceiling for your ask. The gap between them is where niche, rights and audience fit are priced.
Barter or paid: how to choose for a micro creator
| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Creator near 10K to 25K followers, product they would buy anyway | Barter | The product has real value to them and a Reel is a small ask |
| Creator near 25K to 50K, content you will reuse as an ad | Fee, or small fee plus product | You are buying rights, and rights have a price |
| Creator near 50K to 100K | Fee | Quotes in this sub-band are in the tens of thousands, and product alone rarely covers that |
| Product costs the brand little and the creator little to buy | Hybrid | A fee signals that the work is paid and contracted |
| You need a fixed posting date and approvals | Fee | A fee gives you a firmer claim on the schedule |
This table is our team's working rule and not a published benchmark. Whichever way you pay, two rules follow the deal. The post needs a clear label, because ASCI treats even unsolicited free products as a material connection (the ASCI guidelines page lists the permitted labels). And products a creator keeps can attract 10 percent TDS under section 194R once their value passes ₹20,000 in a year, per TaxGuru's summary of the CBDT FAQs. For micro creators, a single product rarely reaches that, but repeat collaborations can. Our nano rates post shows the arithmetic, and our barter collaboration guide covers logistics. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Paying micro creators: invoices, GST and PAN
One 2026 survey found only 15.2 percent of creators registered as a business entity or GST individual. For a brand, that means most micro creators will not send a GST invoice and may not charge GST. Ask early whether a quote is plus GST, and collect each creator's PAN and bank details before the shoot, not on the day you want to pay. Our guide to TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments covers what to deduct.
Example: a 12-creator micro plan
At ₹3,82,000 for 12 creators the average cost is about ₹31,800 per creator. The two creators in the 50K to 100K sub-band cost ₹90,000 of the ₹2,75,000 Reel budget, which is 33 percent of the Reel spend for 17 percent of the creators. If those two do not average more views than the cheapest five, the money is better spent on about four more creators in the 25K to 50K band.
Negotiating with micro creators
Most micro creators have no agent. They respond to clarity, speed and fair terms more than to hard bargaining.
- Send a one-page brief first. Our campaign brief template shows what to include, and it saves a round of questions.
- Offer a 50 percent advance, balance on go-live. It protects both sides and creators remember brands that pay on time.
- Price rights as a separate line. Reposting on your handle is a small ask. Running the Reel as an ad is a bigger one and should be priced.
- Bundle one creator across two formats. A Reel plus a Story set costs less per item than two separate bookings.
- Quote from views, not followers. If an ask is far above what average views justify, say so and show the arithmetic, politely.
For named micro creators, their quotes, average views and our management fee on its own line, see our micro and nano influencer service or send us a brief. Our team works with a network of 50,000+ creators and replies within two working hours. If your creators are under 10,000 followers, read the companion post on nano influencer rates.

Frequently asked questions
How much do micro influencers charge in India?
Micro influencers, with 10,000 to 1 lakh followers, typically ask ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 per Instagram Reel, ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 per Story set and ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 per static post, before GST. The low end fits accounts near 10,000 followers and the high end fits accounts near 1 lakh. See the full rates guide.
How much does an influencer with 20,000 followers charge in India?
One published card puts 10K to 25K accounts at ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 per Reel. Other cards quote floors from ₹5,000 for micro creators. A 20,000-follower creator with strong average views can reasonably ask ₹10,000 to ₹20,000, and one with weak views should accept less. Check views before you agree to a fee.
Do micro influencers accept barter collaborations?
Many do, especially accounts near 10,000 to 25,000 followers who would buy the product anyway. Larger micro creators usually expect a fee, or a small fee plus product. A free product still needs a disclosure label, and kept products can attract TDS. Read our barter collaboration guide.
Are micro influencers cheaper per view than macro influencers?
Not automatically. A micro creator is cheaper per view only if their average views are above the break-even for your fee. Divide each fee by average views over the last 10 to 15 posts, and compare. Our post on micro vs macro influencers shows the arithmetic and three sample splits.
Do micro influencers charge GST?
Only if they are registered, which is required above ₹20 lakh of annual turnover. One 2026 survey found 15.2 percent of creators registered as a business or GST individual, so most micro creators will invoice without GST. Ask whether the quote is plus GST. See TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments.
How many micro influencers can I hire for ₹5 lakh?
In the example plan in this post, a Reel plus a Story set from each creator costs about ₹31,800 on average, including usage rights. At that rate ₹5 lakh of creator spend buys roughly 15 creators, before any management fee and GST. A nano-heavy mix buys more creators. Use the cost calculator.
