In short
- The Reel is the anchor price. A Story set costs 20 to 63 percent of a Reel and a static post or carousel 50 to 80 percent.
- Instagram quotes move on average Reel views, partnership-ad rights, usage rights and bundling more than on follower count. Ask for 10 to 15 recent Reels.
- Partnership-ad rights add 60 to 120 percent to an organic post in one card, or 20 to 50 percent per 30 days in another. Buy them up front.
- Story and static-post cards disagree by about 4x at micro level, mostly because of units and tier width. Compare quotes against the card closest to your creator.
Instagram influencer rates in India run from about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for a nano creator's Reel to ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh for a mega creator. A Story set costs between a fifth and two-thirds of a Reel, and a static post or carousel between half and four-fifths, depending on the tier. Every figure here is an asking price per creator, before GST.
This post stays on Instagram. Our guide to influencer marketing cost in India covers every platform and the general mechanics of pricing. Here we go format by format, explain why Story and static-post prices disagree so much, and list what changes an Instagram quote specifically. For a quick estimate use the influencer cost calculator. Instagram rates by format and tier
Instagram reaches an estimated 481 million people with ads in India, and 93.1 percent of surveyed brands name it their main influencer platform, so these are the rates most brands negotiate first.
| Format | Nano (1K to 10K) | Micro (10K to 100K) | Mid-tier (100K to 500K) | Macro (500K to 1M) | Mega (1M+) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reel | ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 | ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 | ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh | ₹2 lakh to ₹8 lakh | ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh |
| Story set | ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 | ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 to ₹80,000 | ₹50,000 to ₹2.5 lakh | ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| Static post or carousel | ₹1,000 to ₹8,000 | ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 | ₹30,000 to ₹2 lakh | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh | ₹4 lakh to ₹15 lakh |
Published cards price a static post and a carousel as one product. We found none that prices a carousel on its own, so the table does the same. If you want a carousel with designed slides and a script, say so in the brief and agree a single price.
How the three formats relate
Reels are the unit most cards price first. The table below turns the ranges above into a share of the Reel price (our arithmetic), so you can sanity-check a quote that leads with a Story set or a post.
| Format as a share of the Reel | Nano | Micro | Mid-tier | Macro | Mega |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Story set | 50% | 25% to 63% | 23% to 40% | 25% to 31% | 20% |
| Static post or carousel | 50% to 80% | 63% | 57% to 60% | 63% to 75% | 60% to 80% |
One brand-deals guide puts a three to five frame Story set at 40 to 60 percent of the feed-post rate, which sits inside these figures. The Story share falls as accounts grow. Our reading is that a larger account's Reel carries a bigger premium for reaching people who do not follow it, while Stories stay mostly in front of existing followers.
That difference decides which format to buy.
| Job | Format to buy | Why | Proof to ask for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reach people beyond the creator's followers | Reel | Reels can be recommended to non-followers. Meta says India produces more Reels each week than any other country | Plays and reach, with the followers versus non-followers split |
| Drive taps to a link or a code | Story set with a link sticker | Stories sit in front of the people who already follow and trust the creator | Story views and link taps for each frame |
| Leave lasting product proof on the profile | Static post or carousel | It stays on the grid, and a carousel can show steps, features or before-and-after | Reach, saves and shares at 7 days |
| Make a launch-day moment | Bundle of Reel, Stories and post | One creator, three touches in 24 to 48 hours | All of the above |
Why Story and static-post prices disagree
At micro level the published cards for Story sets and static posts are about four times apart. Here are the figures by source type.
| Source type (date) | Micro Story set | Micro static post |
|---|---|---|
| Media agency rate guide (May 2026) | ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 | not given |
| Talent-booking platform (Mar 2026) | ₹8,000 to ₹30,000 (five frames) | ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 |
| Celebrity marketplace (2026) | not given | ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 |
| Influencer platform guide (Jun 2026) | not given | ₹3,000 to ₹15,000 |
| Creator-education guide (Aug 2026) | ₹1,500 to ₹8,000 (three to five frames) | ₹3,000 to ₹15,000 |
Four things explain the spread:
- Units differ. Five frames cost more than three. A "post" in one card may be a designed carousel and in another a single photo.
- The micro tier is wide. A 12,000-follower account and a 95,000-follower account both count as micro, and a card that blends them gives a wide band.
- The author's customer differs. Our reading is that a booking platform quotes the asking prices of the creators it represents, while a guide written for creators quotes what they should charge, which is lower.
- The cards overlap. Several quote the same bands, so the nine behind our ranges carry fewer independent views than the count suggests.
The practical rule: pick the card closest to the kind of creator you are buying from, then price against that creator's own views.
What changes an Instagram quote
Follower tier sets the starting band. These are the factors that move a quote inside it, with the percentages published cards give.
| Factor | Published uplift or effect | What it means on Instagram |
|---|---|---|
| Average Reel views and engagement | Several cards say they matter more than follower count | Ask for the last 10 to 15 Reels and drop any viral outlier |
| Partnership ads (whitelisting) | +60% to 120% over an organic post, or +20% to 50% per 30 days. Ad spend is separate, typically 2x to 4x the creator fee | The post runs as a paid ad from the creator's handle, so it reaches people the creator never reached |
| Usage rights | Brand repost +25% to 40%. Perpetual use +80% to 150%. Another card: +30% to 50% as a separate line, or +20% to 50% per extra month | Reposting on your handle, your site, your marketplace listing or in ads |
| Exclusivity | 30 days +30% to 50%. 90 days +80% to 150% | Blocks the creator from rival Reels for the period |
| Rush under 48 hours | +25% to 40% | Avoid by briefing two to three weeks before the posting date |
| Revisions beyond two rounds | ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 each | Send a clear brief and approve scripts before filming |
| Production | From about ₹5,000 to several lakh | A shot list, props or a second person all add cost |
Partnership ads change the maths most
A creator's best organic post often beats a brand-made ad. Partnership ads are in wide use: Meta says thousands of Indian advertisers run them, and in one vendor survey 76.6 percent of brands had run them with influencers. One brand reported a 53 percent rise in return on ad spend after amplifying creator posts (a brand's own claim, not independent data).
For pricing, the point is timing. Buy the right in the first contract, with a stated period and the accounts it covers. Two published cards price it differently, one as a flat uplift and one per 30 days, so write down which you mean. Our service page on creator ads and whitelisting shows how we structure this.
Stories are priced on reach you cannot see later
A Reel keeps collecting plays after it goes live. A Story set is gone from the feed within a day, so the proof has to be captured in that window. Put it in the contract: story views and link taps for every frame, sent within 24 hours of posting. Without that, you are paying for a number you cannot check.
Bundles: Reel, Stories and post together
Buying more than one format from the same creator lowers the price per item, because the creator briefs, shoots and edits once. Published figures are not consistent, so use them as a bracket. Two cards price a Reel, post and Stories package at between 1.6x and 2.5x a single Reel, one card prices three Reels at 2.2x to 2.5x, and a booking platform reports a 20 to 35 percent discount on any bundle against buying the items separately.
Example: auditing one Instagram quote
The creator below is a hypothetical beauty micro creator with 45,000 followers. The quote is invented to show how to read the lines, and the add-ons use mid-range values from the published bands.
| Line | Creator's ask | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Reel | ₹22,000 | Average Reel views. If they average 15,000 views, that is about ₹1,467 per 1,000 views |
| Story set, 4 frames | ₹8,000 | Average story views and link taps |
| Static post | ₹12,000 | Is it a single image or a carousel? Who designs it? |
| 60-day paid usage on the Reel | ₹7,700 (+35% of the Reel) | Which handles and ads does the right cover? |
| Partnership-ad access, 30 days | ₹6,600 (+30% of the Reel) | Which post, and can the period be extended at the same rate? |
| Total before GST | ₹56,300 | |
| GST at 18%, if registered | ₹10,134 | Ask for a GST invoice, and ask whether the quote is plus GST |
| Total with GST | ₹66,434 |
The Reel price is inside the micro band, but the add-ons make the total about 2.6 times the Reel fee. Three moves lower it without damaging the relationship. Drop the static post if the Reel and Stories carry the message. Offer a fixed posting date and a two-round revision limit in exchange for a cheaper Reel. Ask for usage rights as a separate line, so you can remove them if the Reel does not perform. Running the same lines through our influencer cost calculator shows whether the add-ons sit inside the usual range.
Proof of delivery: what to ask for
| Format | Screenshot to request | When |
|---|---|---|
| Reel | Plays, reach, likes, comments, saves and shares from Insights | 7 days after posting and again at 30 days |
| Story set | Views and link taps for each frame | Within 24 hours of posting |
| Static post or carousel | Reach, saves and shares | 7 days after posting |
| Partnership ad | Ad metrics from your own ad account | During and after the period |
Ask for the first set before you pay the second half of the fee. Every paid post also needs a clear disclosure label under ASCI's guidelines, so build that into the brief. See our ASCI influencer guidelines explainer and the ASCI guidelines page. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.
When Instagram prices are the wrong yardstick
If your buyer researches on YouTube, an Instagram Reel is the wrong comparison and the right one is a YouTube integration or dedicated video. Our guide to YouTube vs Instagram for influencer marketing sets out when each platform wins.
If your budget is under a few lakh rupees, read how much micro influencers charge and nano influencers charge before you chase a bigger name. If you are comparing quotes from five creators, put them on one sheet using the template in our influencer rate card guide.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an Instagram influencer charge per Reel in India?
Typical asking prices are ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for nano creators, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for micro, ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh for mid-tier, ₹2 to ₹8 lakh for macro and ₹5 to ₹25 lakh for mega creators, before GST. The wide bands reflect niche, average views and usage rights. See the full rates guide for other platforms.
How much does an Instagram Story cost?
A set of three to five Story frames typically costs ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 from a nano creator and ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 from a micro creator. One published card puts a Story set at 40 to 60 percent of the feed-post rate. Published prices for Story sets differ by about 4x at micro level, so check the number of frames in the quote.
Do influencers charge more for a carousel than for a single image post?
Published rate cards price static posts and carousels together, and we found none that prices carousels separately. A carousel that needs designed slides or a script can reasonably cost more, so ask what the creator is producing. Brief the number of slides and the message, then agree one price per post.
How much does an Instagram influencer with 50,000 followers charge?
A 50,000-follower creator sits in the middle of the micro band. One card's stepped bands put 25K to 50K accounts at ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 per Reel and 50K to 100K accounts at ₹30,000 to ₹1 lakh. Average Reel views and niche decide where in that range the quote lands. Read our micro influencer rates post.
What does it cost to run an influencer post as a partnership ad?
One published card adds 60 to 120 percent over an organic post for whitelisting, another adds 20 to 50 percent per 30 days, and the ad spend itself is separate. Agree the rights and the period in the first contract, because asking after a post performs gives the creator more bargaining power. See creator ads and whitelisting.
Do Instagram influencer rates include GST?
Most published cards do not say. GST at 18 percent applies only if the creator is registered, which is required above ₹20 lakh of annual turnover, so many nano and micro creators do not charge it. Ask whether a quote is plus GST. Our post on TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments covers the detail.
How do I check that an Instagram influencer's price is fair?
Divide the fee by the creator's average Reel views over the last 10 to 15 Reels, then compare with the tier band and with your own paid-media cost per 1,000 views. Check engagement with the engagement rate calculator and ask for Insights screenshots before you agree anything.
