In short

  • Valentine's Day is Sunday 14 February 2027, so outstation gifts must ship by Friday 12 February. Plan a week of content from 7 February, not a single post.
  • In 2027 the week shares space with Vasant Panchami on 11 February, the expected start of Ramadan about 9 February and CBSE board exams.
  • Gifted hampers and hosted dinners need a disclosure label. Do not stage proposals as real, and do not use creators under 18 for couples content.
  • Mix gifting micro creators, a few couple creators and nano hamper unboxers, and keep money aside to run the best posts as creator ads.

Valentine's Day influencer campaigns work best as a gifting week with a quiet finish: gift guides and date plans in the first days of February, delivery countdowns from 7 to 12 February, and a light push on Sunday 14 February 2027. This post is the Valentine's slice of our guide to influencer marketing in India, written for brands that sell gifts, dining, grooming, jewellery and short trips.

The date never moves, which makes planning easy, but 2027 is crowded. The festival calendar for influencers shows Vasant Panchami, the expected start of Ramadan and board exams all landing in the same fortnight. Read the clashes below before you lock a slot.

Dates for 2026 and 2027, and what shares the week

The week is counted from 7 February in Indian media calendars, with a named day for each date. Three things share the 2027 week:

  • Vasant Panchami, Thursday 11 February, per Office Holidays: yellow outfits, Saraswati Puja in Bengal and student content.
  • Ramadan, expected to begin about 9 February, per Wego, subject to moon sighting. Valentine's Day will fall in the first week of the fast. Our Eid and Ramadan playbook explains the evening rhythm.
  • Board exams. CBSE has not published its 2027 date sheet as of 1 November, and Careers360 expects Class 10 to begin in February. Teen audiences will be offline; see our exam-season playbook.

What audiences do online

In our experience, gift searches build through the first fortnight of February, and the posts that earn saves are lists with prices. In the last three days the questions change to delivery: will it arrive, can it be wrapped, is there a note card. On the day itself people post their own photos, and brand posts get little attention.

The audience is also not all couples. Friends, singles, newly engaged pairs, long-distance partners and parents buying for each other all shop in the same week, and the best campaigns write for several of them.

Ten Valentine's Day campaign ideas, by what the shopper needs

Choosing the gift

  1. Gift guides by budget and person. Gifting micro creators build lists at ₹500, ₹1,500 and ₹5,000, "for him", "for her" and "for the one who has everything", with real prices. Carousel plus Reel; add a code.
  2. Hamper unboxing. Nano and micro creators open your box on camera. Make the box worth filming and the unboxing honest about what is inside.
  3. Last-order Stories. Micro creators post a countdown with the link sticker, matched to your real courier cut-off. See link sticker campaigns.

Planning the day

  1. A date for ₹2,000. Local food and café creators film a route through one neighbourhood with a set menu. Suits restaurants and QSR brands; track with a code or a QR at the table.
  2. Get ready with me. Fashion and beauty micro creators film first-date looks and grooming routines; see fashion and beauty brands.
  3. The weekend away. Valentine's weekend in 2027 is 12 to 14 February. Travel creators film a two-night staycation; see hotels and resorts.

Beyond one kind of couple

  1. Long-distance, together. Couple creators film the parcel, the video call and the surprise. Suits personalised gifts, couriers and calling apps.
  2. The ring question. Jewellery brands work with engagement-minded creators ahead of wedding season; read jewellery brands and wedding season.
  3. Galentine's and self-love. Friend and solo creators film gifts to themselves and each other on 13 February. Skincare, snacks and wellness fit well.
  4. Valentine's with my parents. Creators gift their own parents and film the reaction. It is the safest idea for conservative or family-heavy audiences, and it leads into Mother's Day and Father's Day.

What to put in the brief

Valentine's content fails when every creator posts the same sentence. Three asks make the week feel varied without losing control:

  • A real price and a real cut-off. Give every creator the same order-by date and the list price, and ask them to say both on screen. A gift that arrives on 16 February is a refund, not a sale.
  • A different person each time. Brief creators on who the gift is for: partner, friend, parent, self. Two creators with the same audience should not receive the same angle.
  • A version for the day. Ask for one Story-ready cut that works on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February, when people scroll fast and read little. The long Reel belongs in the week before.

Keep a short claims sheet too: what the product is made of, what the guarantee is, what the delivery promise is. Creators repeat what they are given.

What to measure

Count orders by creator code and by day, not only in total. The share of orders placed before the 12 February cut-off tells you whether the gift guides landed early enough. Saves and shares matter more than likes for list content, and link taps matter more for Stories. On 14 February itself, expect low reach and a high share of reposts; do not judge the campaign by that one day. Afterwards, compare cost per order with paid social and keep the best creators for Mother's Day and Father's Day, where the gifting muscles are the same.

Budget notes

Use the ranges on our influencer rates guide. A nano Reel is about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 and a nano Story set ₹1,000 to ₹5,000. A micro Reel is ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 and a micro Story set ₹5,000 to ₹20,000. A mid-tier Reel is ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh.

Two lines move the price in this week more than any other. The first is exclusivity: chocolate, flower and jewellery rivals post in the same days, so a seven-day window is worth buying. Our planning uplift is about 40 percent for 30 days, so negotiate a week down from that. The second is reuse. Usage rights add about 35 percent in our plans, and creator ad rights add 60 to 120 percent over an organic post in one published guide, with ad media on top. Budget a management fee of about 15 to 25 percent of creator spend, per published benchmarks, plus 18 percent GST. Try combinations in our influencer cost calculator.

Sensitivities and things to avoid

  • Harassment of couples. Do not ask creators to film affection in open public places. Shoot at venues and homes that have agreed in writing, and agree a moderation plan for comments.
  • Do not assume everyone is a couple, or straight. Include singles, friends and parents. If you feature same-sex couples, cast and pay creators from the community and let them shape the idea. Do not do it for one day only.
  • Do not stage a proposal and call it real. Staged content can be filmed, but it should say it is scripted.
  • Do not shame or pressure. Avoid "prove your love" lines and price-based comparisons.
  • Keep it adult. No giveaways or sign-ups aimed at under-18s. The DPDP Act bars tracking and targeted advertising directed at children and needs verifiable parental consent, as PIB reported; see our data-protection guide.
  • Ramadan in 2027. Do not schedule dinner offers or "tonight" posts at iftar time, and do not ask Muslim creators to carry the week alone.
  • Alcohol. Alcohol brands face separate advertising limits, so take legal advice before any wine or spirits tie-in.

Disclosure, labels and tax

A hamper, a hosted dinner or a stay is a material connection under the ASCI influencer guidelines, even when nobody asked for a post. The creator needs a label such as Free gift, Collaboration or Ad, placed where the eye lands first: on the visual in a Story, on screen for at least 3 seconds in a video of 15 seconds or less, and spoken at the start and end of a live. The brand shares responsibility and must be able to back its claims, which matters for "pure silver" or "handmade" lines.

For tax, gifts a creator keeps count as a benefit valued at your purchase price. Above ₹20,000 in a financial year, 10 percent TDS under section 194R can apply, with exemptions for some small individual creators; see TDS 194R and GST on influencer payments and the ASCI guidelines explained. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

When is Valentine's Day in 2026 and 2027?

Valentine's Day is on a fixed date, 14 February. It fell on Saturday in 2026 and falls on Sunday in 2027. Valentine's week, from Rose Day on 7 February to Valentine's Day on 14 February, is how most Indian media and shoppers count the run-up. Because 14 February 2027 is a Sunday, outstation gift delivery effectively closes on Friday 12 February.

How early should brands book influencers for Valentine's Day?

Book about eight weeks ahead, which is around 20 December for 2027, and brief about six weeks ahead. That is earlier than most brands think, because wedding season and Christmas fill creator calendars in December. Nano and micro campaigns can be briefed in three to four weeks, and rush turnarounds under 48 hours can add 25 to 40 percent.

How much does a Valentine's Day influencer campaign cost?

Creator fees follow normal published ranges: about ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for a nano Reel, ₹8,000 to ₹80,000 for a micro Reel and ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh for a mid-tier Reel. Add usage rights, creator ads and a management fee of about 15 to 25 percent. Our influencer rates guide explains each line.

Which creators work best for Valentine's Day campaigns?

Gifting and lifestyle micro creators carry gift guides, local food and café creators carry date plans, and fashion and beauty creators carry first-date looks. Couple creators add warmth for a few posts. Parent and friend creators widen the audience beyond couples. Our micro and nano influencer service casts these groups.

Do hampers sent to influencers for Valentine's Day need a disclosure?

Yes. ASCI treats free products, even unsolicited ones, as a material connection, so a creator who posts needs a clear label such as Free gift, Collaboration or Ad. A hosted dinner or stay is also a benefit. Above ₹20,000 a year per creator, section 194R can apply. See our TDS and GST guide.

Is it risky to run Valentine's Day content in India?

It is manageable if you plan for it. Keep content adult, include singles, friends and parents, and shoot couples content at venues that have agreed in writing, so creators are not harassed in public. Do not stage a proposal and present it as real. Check dates for clashes such as Ramadan, which is expected to begin about 9 February 2027.
